But that didn’t change the fact that Reshiram and Kyurem were very much legendaries. Legendaries that they knew little about. Yes, what was passed down by the Dragonite elders suggested they were kind… of alright. Nothing on the level of Palkia, Dialga and Giratina or the drake that was supposedly poised to strike Galar, but still more than capable of causing strife. And here Rose was, about to give them tickets for the first show of the year.
*Are you certain that this will work?* they inquired and watched Rose shrug. Even if it didn’t, there were always other options that she could go with here.
“If it doesn’t, I can just create a storm. That usually gets their attention.” Zekrom suggested as Dragonite shifted their attention to the sky. While the skies were clear, something… felt off. Like they had done this before. But that was likely the case of having to come up here
“There is no need to go that far.” a voice announced, bringing with it Kyurem and Reshiram. Dragonite stared upwards, trying their hardest to maintain some grace. Yet, a pain echoed about their head. Ignoring it for now, Dragonite headed over to Rose. Joining Haxorus there, Goodra was not that far behind. “What is it that you wish for?”
Rose raised an eyebrow.
“Nothing. I just wanted to give you tickets to my next show.” Rose announced and held a ticket out in each hand. Snatched away, the two legendary dragons shifted their attention to Dragonite. Gulping, the dragon pokemon took a moment to calm themselves. This was no big deal. Probably wanted to hear if this was a trick. Though, Haxorus was probably better for this.
“Emissary of the Clan of Thorns, what is the meaning of this?!” Kyurem screeched as a wave of pain assaulted Dragonite’s head. Raising a claw up, their eyes struggled to remain open. Letting them slide shut, gravity took hold right after. In their last moments, they caught a glimpse of Rose rushing over.
.
On the other side, Dragonite found themselves standing on top of Dragonspiral Tower. Except now, it was raining. Kyurem and Reshiram were standing in the middle, whereas they and their companions were a couple feet away. Yet, there was no sign of Rose. Where could she possibly be? Oh right. That was exactly why they were here.
*Are you alright, Dragonite?* Haxorus inquired and Dragonite nodded. Turning their attention to the two legendaries, they calmed themselves.
“Answer me and perhaps I will let you live.” Kyurem announced and Dragonite stepped forward. Clearing his throat, it was now or never.
*We wish to know why you turned a blind eye and forced Jirachi to intervene?!” Dragonite screeched as they shook their claw in that general direction. Unfazed, that brought with it laughter of all sounds. Coming from Reshiram, Dragonite didn’t know how to feel here. They didn’t understand what was even funny about this in the slightest. This was serious. Why couldn’t they see that?
“Because Zekrom was getting pun-” Reshiram announced, only to be slapped by Dragonite. Why was two of the guardian dragons of Unova so intent on fucking Zekrom and them over? It made no sense. They had to be hearing the words coming out of their mouths here.
“How dare you claim that it was his fault! You straight up left him to his own devices!” Dragonite screeched and punched Reshiram. Not really accomplishing the desired result on top of shattering their image, it did feel good. Even if they had sealed the fate of them and their companions. “Of course he’s going to make choices you’re not going to agree with. It’s called life! Perhaps you should try living it?”
Haxorus and Goodra looked over to their companion. Watching Dragonite head back over, the tears already rolling down.
“It’ll be okay.” Haxorus cooed and Dragonite shook their head. Trying their best to keep their eyes open, some kind of force made them shut.
.
“It’ll be okay.” Rose cooed as Dragonite opened their eyes. Meeting her gaze, Dragonite pulled themselves up. Getting a hug from the actress, they turn their attention to Kyurem.
“There is no trick. Lady Rose just wishes for you to understand things from her point of view. Okay?” Dragonite announced and Kyurem nodded. Shooting Rose a look, Reshiram muttered a curse. With that, the pair made their exit. For now, Dragonite’s attention shifted to that of Rose and company. “Sorry about that.”
Rose shook her head.
“You said what you had to say. That’s good enough. Right?” she answered and spun around to head for the stairs down. Following right behind. Yet, Dragonite couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. Oh well. The answer to that probably would come eventually.
