“Gary, that isn’t a kyogre in the pond that I’m seeing right now?” Oak called out as Gary poured himself a bowl of cereal. Just in time for Muk to slide over and pounce the professor. Knocking him down, Oak managed to pull himself out.
“No gramps, you're not hallucinating. That very much is a kyogre in the pond. I would ask how it got there, but it might be best to wait for Rose to show up.” Gary explained and Oak let out a sigh. While he hadn’t thought about Rose being involved, that made the most sense here. Though, the actress was bound to have a story in regards to this.
.
Approaching the ranch once more, Rose let out a yawn. The events of a couple hours bounced about her mind, bringing with it so many questions. What exactly did Zekerom want with her? She had risen up the ranks of the troupe, but that wasn’t enough to catch the eye of a legendary pokemon. Or was this related too to what had happened to start her journey in the first place? Then there was the matter of Rayquaza. While getting rid of Damien was a boon for not just Kanto, but the entire region, that didn’t change the fact she had no clue what the fuck the sky noodle pokemon doing with Damien. Perhaps Zekrom could answer that.
Whatever the case, Rose’s attention shifted to her attire. The nightgown was gone, replaced by a fresh bustle. Charizard’s gaze had been upon it, quite confused by his mistress’s attire. Especially after Dragonite fashioned him a necklace to hold that marble. Made from string found around the house, it was doing the job nicely.
“Miss Rose, are you going to be alright?” Goodra inquired and Rose nodded. While last night had shaken her, she would be good.
“I kind of have to be.” Rose answered as they reached the door. Taking the time to knock, she didn’t have to wait long for Oak to answer. “Good morning, Professor. Uh… sorry about the kyogre. Rayquaza will pick them up… eventually.”
Oak raised an eyebrow, uncertain how to actually respond to that statement.
“What do you mean that Rayquaza is going to come and pick them up eventually?” Oak announced, waiting a moment to see if Rose was punking him here. But no, she was serious here. “Did Rayquaza say when exactly they were coming back?”
Rose shook her head. In retrospect, that would've been a good idea to ask. In the heat of the moment, such questions fell by the wayside.
“Probably in a day or two.” Rose answered and got a look from Oak and Gary. Stepping aside, she and her companions stepped inside. "Also, Charizard is here with me because Damien took his daughter."
Oak raised an eyebrow. A sigh escaped his lips, his gaze shifting to Charizard. Letting out a happy cry, that brought with it Chameleon. Perking up upon seeing her father, she split her gaze between Oak and Charizard.
"Char." Charizard announced and looked around for a spot to sit. Settling for the couch, he took care to not set the piece of furniture ablaze. Dragonite and Goodra were right behind, squeezing themselves in to the best of their abilities. For now, Haxorus and Rose took their place beside the couch.
"Damien was planning to break into the ranch and Charizard intercepted him." Rose explained, Charizard nodding in agreement. Shifting focus over to his daughter, that was her cue to walk over. Getting set up into his lap, she appreciated the gesture. "He sent out that strange pink kyogre and then Rayquaza showed up. She didn't take kindly to one of her children being treated in the way that she didn't approve of. So she took Damien off our hands."
Oak nodded, shooting his grandson a look for good measure. While Gary wasn't doing anything here, it was best to nip any childish behavior in the bud.
"That's good to know. Will you be okay for the funeral later today?" Oak inquired and Rose stared down at her lap. A sigh escaped her lips.
"Yes, Professor." the actress answered and met Oak's gaze. No use in avoiding the inevitable.
