A bunch of people she hadn’t seen in years would be here, all paying their respects to her mother. Then there was the matter of IT. She was bound to make an appearance as well, bringing with it all kinds of frustration and/or chaos into the mix. Both of which had no place here. Not that it would stop them from happening anyway.
*Miss Rose, are you ready to go?* Goodra announced and Rose nodded. Spinning around, she took a moment to apply some makeup to her maid’s lips. *Thank you!*
With that, Rose and Goodra made the short trip down the stairs. There, her pokemon were waiting. Charizard had managed to procure Mimey's jacket and slip it on. As for Chameleon, she had gotten into Delia's jewelry and put on a play tiara. It felt oddly fitting here. Not that Rose could figure out why exactly that was what came to mind here. Perhaps it was why Damien went through all trouble, only to get captured by Rayquaza.
*You look divine, Ms Rose.* Haxorus called out, Dragonite nodding in agreement. Taking a moment to smooth their dress out, they reach out to Haxorus’s claw. Grabbing hold, they got a squeeze.
"Thank you." Rose remarked as she slung her purse across her shoulders. Once she was satisfied, the actress headed for the door. Opening it up, her companions followed right behind.
Outside, Pallet Town was buzzing with activity. People were heading in the direction of Delia's funeral, bringing with their friends and pokemon.
"Isn't that Rose from the Flower Garden Troupe?"
"I didn't know that she used to be a resident of Pallet."
"I wonder if she's trying to capitalize on this for one reason or another?"
Rose rolled her eyes. Leave it to them to jump to conclusions on why she was here. But that went without saying. Nonetheless, she reached out to Haxorus’s hand. Grabbing hold, the axe jaw pokemon took care to squeeze their partner's hand. Heading in the direction of the funeral, they couldn't help but feel like they were being watched. Not by a single person. But rather, a group. Perhaps they were friends of Rose. Or at least, the person who Rose us-
"Hey! Why the heck did you just come put of Delia's house?" a voice announced and cut off Haxorus’s thought. Spinning around, they were met with a boy with greenish gray hair. Beside him, a girl with brown hair hidden by a bandana was trying her best to hold him back. Dressed in an attire more fitting for a contest than a funeral, one could see where her priorities were.
"Uh… I'm sorry about this, ma'am." the girl greeted, Dragonite taking the opportunity to take the boy off of the girl’s hands. Holding him up in the air, that provided the boy with a good look of Rose.
“It’s alright… May.” Rose answered, not even trying to match her old voice. Waiting a moment for the response, Rose was knocked back. Bustle remaining in its clean state, but that action had very much brought the attention of Rose’s pokemon over to her.
“Ash Ketchum. Where the fuck have you been?!” May screeched, resisting the urge to pull back her fist and punch Rose.
“First off, it’s Rose. Secondly, Unova. Third, that is not the way you greet a lady. Especially one you haven’t seen in some time.” Rose scolded, trying her best to maintain composure here. While she didn’t want to come down so hard on the coordinator, it did feel a touch satisfying.
“Wait. You transitioned?” Max announced and Dragonite lowered him down to meet his former friend’s gaze.
“Yeah. Do you have a problem with that?” Rose announced and Max gulped. So many less than nice things bubbled to the surface.
*You know, we found a ratty-looking orange dress sent here from someone in Celadon City. Perhaps we could put him in that.* Goodra suggested and got a chuckle from Rose. Looking in the direction of his mother’s home, they hadn’t made that much progress.
“I don’t see why not.” Rose suggested as a smile formed on her face. Yes, this was going to be fun.
