Unovan Rose Act 27

In retrospect, Max knew what he had walked into. At least, that was what he told himself while that stupid orange dress covered his body. Fitting surprisingly well, it was just one more annoyance here.

“You know, I’m still willing to do your makeup.” May explained and Max rolled his eyes. Of course his sister would suggest that there.

"I'll be fine." Max muttered and looked over to Rose. Doing her best to hold in a chuckle, she was cradling Haxorus’s claw. "So… are these dragon pokemon yours or property of the troupe?"

Rose came to a stop, the chuckling stopped.

"They're all mine." Rose answered and Max raised an eyebrow. Shifting his attention over to Goodra, he resisted the temptation to reach out and touch their scales. Especially with the way that the maid uniform clung to their body. "Is Brock and Misty going to show up as well?"

Silence fell over the group.

"Last I heard, Misty's sisters had her sent off to Alola. As for Brock…" May answered and got a raised eyebrow from Rose here. Thoughts of that strange spider thing flooded her mind. Could that have been Misty? While she wanted to say no here, there was still a possibility of it being the case. Shoving that thought away for now, she let her eyebrow come down.

"There you are!" a voice called out, bringing with it Brock and Blissey. Looking a touch tired, Rose suspected she had something to do with that. "There were a couple cases of people freaking out about Rayquaza carrying off a trainer."

Rose looked away, squeezing Haxorus’s claw for good measure.

*We probably should keep that part out.* Dragonite whispered, Haxorus and Goodra nodding in agreement. Even as Charizard shot the trio a look.

"Uh… hi, Brock. I'm going by Rose now." Rose explained and Brock froze. Giving a nod, his attention shifted to Rose’s pokemon. Taking a moment to study them, his attention shifted back to Rose.

"It's good to know you're still the same compassionate person you were when we parted." Brock cooed and Rose rolled her eyes. While the flattery was nice, it did little to change the fact that the gym leader was attempting to make a move on her.

“Thank you, but I’m not interested in you.” Rose answered and Brock nodded. Looking away for just a moment, that was all he needed to compose himself. Then it’s back over to the actress.

“How have you been, at least?”

Rose chuckled and sighed. Taking the time to compose herself, she took care to split her gaze between her audience members. What followed was a condensed down version of the events leading up to this point. Leaving out some stuff that wasn’t necessary for their situation, it still took a couple of minutes to tell while walking in the direction of their destination.

“Huh.” Max answered, feeling Brock’s gaze shift to him for just a moment. Then it’s back over to Rose.

“Yeah. It’s a lot and I get the feeling that it’s going to be chaotic for the foreseeable future.” Rose remarked as her vision was met with chairs. Slowing her pace, that was likely where they were sitting during the funeral.

“I would imagine.” May answered as she took a seat. Max and Brock were right behind, leaving Rose and her pokemon to bring up the rear. Taking care to prevent any broken chairs, they got themselves comfortable and shifted their attention ahead.

*Do they have funerals where you’re from?* Goodra inquired as they looked over to Dragonite and Haxorus.

*A couple.* Dragonite answered and stared down at their lap. “Nothing is meant to last forever. We can try our best to make it last as long as possible, but it has to end eventually.”

Haxorus nodded, tears rolling down their face. Looking over to Charizard, the axe jaw pokemon found them holding their daughter. Tears also rolling down his face, Haxorus was met with a nod.
