βAre you going to be okay?β Rose inquired and looked over to Haxorus. Giving the actress a nod, their attention turned back too the city itself.
βBy any chance are you Miss Rose?β a voice called out and Rose raised an eyebrow. A tall muscular man was approaching, white beard on full display.
βI am. Is this about Iris?β Rose inquired and the man nodded. Looking over to Haxorus, that was their cue to walk up. By no means how they expected to go about finding out that they knew,
βYes. She had no family, so you have been named the unofficial next of kin.β the man explained and Rose looked away. A tiny part of her felt responsible for Iris's death. Had she simply not been there, this likely wouldn't have happened. The actress shoved that thought out of her head. No use in thinking about it right now. "Her memorial is in that of Dragonspiral Tower. Near the top. Though, I suspect that you and your companions were already going to go that way?"
Rose nodded, her pokemon doing the same right after.
"Yes. I was told by Rayquaza herself that Zekrom wished to meet me. By any chance do you know why he would do that?" Rose inquired and got a chuckle from the man. Turning his attention to Dragonspiral Tower, what looked to be an all too familiar storm looked ready to strike. Rose let out a sigh and reached out to Haxorusβs claw. Grabbing hold, a squeeze followed as the group headed off in the direction of Dragonspiral Tower.
*We probably should've asked what being Iris's next of kin actually entailed.* Dragonite announced and Rose turned to face them.
"You're probably right, but we can solve that once we figure out what Zekrom wants.β Rose answered and spun back round. Letting out a deep breath, she calmed her nerves. There was nothing to fear. Beyond the giant black dragon pokemon more than capable of killing you and has already killed once before.
Shoving those thoughts away as she approached the main entrance. Rose watched an old woman make her way from there. Trying to look to see where she was going, the actress found herself unable to do so. Oh well. Shifting her focus back to the entrance, the guards at the gate shift their attention over to Rose. Stepping off to the side, they let the group step inside.
Compared to the city proper, something about the tower felt⦠cold and uninviting. Like it was once a place that was used by a family of sorts. Why and for what reason eluded the actress here. Not that it mattered. A spiral staircase awaited climbing.
*Iβve heard stories about this place.* Haxorus whispered, his voice echoing about. Sounded quite odd, but that could be looked past here. Especially as the group made their way up to the first set of stairs.
βWhat were they about?β Rose inquired and stepped up. For todayβs outing, she had chosen to go with one of her bustles. Hopefully, this would be the last day that she was out and could change back to her usual gowns and other big dresses.
*This place was supposedly built by a dragon pokemon for their beloved, but that their beloved would never get to step foot inside.* Haxorus announced as Rose squeezed their claw. Staring upward, feelings of wonder flooded her mind. Picking up her pace, her pokemon followed behind. In retrospect, perhaps it wouldβve been a good idea to ask which floor exactly that Iris had been laid to rest on. No matter. It was just a matter of time before they got there.
