Unovan Rose Act 30

Heading up the stairs, Rose did her best to calm the nerves threatening to burst forth. Something about Haxorus’s story had no doubt resonated with her, Try as she might to place what about it was, the actress found herself coming up empty. For now, her attention turned to the walls. Someone had gone through the trouble of painting two women between a large red bird. The woman on the left had brunette hair, while the woman on the right had either red or magenta hair. Whichever one it was, didn’t matter. No, her thoughts had turned to the floors that they were passing by. She had a pretty good idea of what Iris looked like. Of course, that was not accounting for the year and change that had passed and decay set in. Though, there was bound to be a photo to deno-

Coming to a stop, Rose saw her. Clear as day, a picture on the coffin denoted it as Iris’s. Far smaller than that of her mother’s, it felt… worse. Like she should be around with them, cracking jokes and showing them the spots.

“Please forgive me, Iris.” Rose whispered as she stepped out onto this particular floor. Kneeling down to the best of her abilities, she spoke a silent prayer. Doing little to soothe the feelings echoing forth from her chest, she motioned for Haxorus to approach. Not that her partner needed such an instruction in the first place.

*Oh, Iris. Do you like what you see?* Haxorus announced, their response falling on deaf ears. Not that they were really expecting an answer here. It was more a case of the thought counting here than anything concrete.

“I like to think that she does.” Rose answered as Dragonite and Goodra approached, taking the time to give a silent prayer as well. “If not, then she’ll just have to deal with it in her own way.”

Haxorus held in a chuckle. While that was quite a dark joke from the actress, they could see where she was coming from.

With that now resolved, the group made the short walk back to the stairs. Taking them up at a slightly faster rate than they had previously, what looked to be light began pouring into the tower.

*Not much further, Miss Rose!* Goodra announced and Rose nodded. Focusing ahead, she took one more time to compose herself. This was the moment of truth. The actress had come this far and there was no turning back.

“Let’s do this.” Rose told herself as the stairs came to a stop. Waiting a moment for her pokemon to catch up, her attention turned ahead. Standing atop the tower’s old stone roof, Zekrom awaited. Piercing through the cloud layer, blue skies hung overhead. “I am here Prince Zekrom! What do you want with me?”

Zekrom chuckled.

“You have quite some nerve for making me wait as long as you did.” Zekrom announced, ignoring the looks that Haxorus and company were giving him here. As the prince, that could be looked past in favor of his prize. And what a beautiful prize she was. Better him than “As such, I ask for your hand in marr-”

Rose stomped her foot.

“I object. You have taken the life of someone. How can I trust you not to do the same to me or my ladies?” Rose announced and stepped forward. Meeting Zekrom’s gaze, Zekrom stepped back. She had gotten him there. So he would need to hold his ground and figure out some way through this.

“Fine then. I will follow you and show my compatibility to you! How does that sound?” Zekrom shouted and Rose nodded. Doing her best to hold in a chuckle, she looked around for a ball. While her dear ‘spouse’ was bound to be a handful, that was part of the challenge.

Eventually gazing upon a love ball, she motioned for Goodra to grab it. Goodra complied, taking care to scoop it up. Bringing it back to Rose, the actress wasted little time in throwing it at her ‘fiance’. Watching Zekrom get pulled in, thoughts of the kind of outfits that would work best with the prince flooded Rose’s mind.

“Definitely big floofy dresses.” Rose thought as she heard a click. Looking in the direction of the love ball, she took care in approaching. Wouldn’t want to fall off after making a major step.

*Well, that’s one problem solved, Lady Rose.* Dragonite announced and Rose shook her head. While she appreciated the optimism, there was still much to go.

“Indeed, Dragonite.” Rose cooed, ladylike voice and attitude on full display. Reaching out to Haxorus’s claw, the axe jaw pokemon let her grab hold…
