Gaia's Awakening

Ganondorf stared over his handiwork.

While he never would say he was a perfectionist, this had perhaps been the hardest job he had taken on in some time. But it was all worth it. A full-sized gerudo doll, built in such a way that it could hold his soul. At least, long enough that he could transfer the few parts of himself that he actually liked. Perhaps his memories. Yeah. That would do nicely.

Beyond that, he had chosen to go with the standard gerudo ponytail. Add in the gorgeous set of  purple eyes, very few would suspect that the king of evil was thinking about transitioning. Regardless of the fact that it was likely an open secret now that Leaf had come out. Probably be a good idea to check on her. Less to mess with her, more to check on her. Probably had her and Zelda worried sick. Not his intention, just how it worked out. All because that little snot wouldn't let him have a super crown. So what if it didn't work? Any data was better than nothing. But no, Ganondorf had to go the hard route here. No matter. He had been wanting to make a large doll and this was the perfect excuse.

Looking to his left, a purple sari awaited. A far cry from traditional gerudo attire, it came across as regal. Like a princess. Scioping the sari up, the king of evil took care to fit it on the doll. Smoothing out the frock, care was taken to get it looking right.

"Here goes nothing." Ganondorf thought and sat down on the bed. Closing his eyes, he placed a hand on the doll. Feeling his soul leave his body, it took refuge in her new body.

Eyes opening up, 'Ganondorf' looked around. Compared to his own vision, there was absolutely no difference. If anything, the doll's vision was even better. But that remained to be seen as she sat up. Now where did she put those gerudo heels?

Scanning the room a couple times, 'Ganondorf' didn't have to look far. Sitting on her workbench, she made the short walk over. Picking the footwear up, thoughts of a name flooded the doll’s mind. Ganondorf was in no way cute. Not even in a disgusting kind of way. No, her new name had to be short and sweet. Something like… Gaia. Yeah. That would work nicely. She just needed to remember to call herself that going forward.

Taking a seat on her bed, Gaia looked over to her old body. Nice as it had been, there was something nice about having something that couldn’t be commandeered by someone with no concept of personal space and/or ulterior motives. Demise had both, which made every encounter with that asshole all the trickier. Especially after she had heard what had happened between him and Leaf. The nerve of that fucker to pull that stunt. If their paths crossed, there were definitely going to be words thrown about.

Shoving that thought away, Gaia slipped on her heels. Taking a couple steps to ensure that they were on properly, it was over to a small vanity. Normally used for customizing doll faces, today it would be used for her own face. Starting with a coat of purple to the lips, she quickly moved to that of some light mascara. Her eyebrows were already quite pretty to begin, but this would take it to a whole different level. Hopefully Zelda and Leaf would appreciate the work that she had put into her look. If not, that was their loss. Not hers.

Staring into the mirror, Gaia admired the gerudo beauty that stared back. She looked absolutely immaculate and yet, something felt missing. But what exactly? The doll swore she had remembered everything. What could’ve escaped her memor-

“My jewelry.” Gaia muttered and reached down into one of the vanity’s drawers. Opening it up, out came some gerudo bracelets and a small tiara. Perfect for any social gatherings or walking about the mansion. Taking the time to get it on just right, the gerudo queen breathed a sigh of relief. Now she was ready to go. “Perfect. I can’t wait for them to see me.”

Getting up from the vanity, Gaia took a moment to compose herself. This was the first time she had really ‘gone out’. Was this how Leaf felt when she approached Peach’s room for the first time? Most likely. While nothing like that experience, Gaia felt like she understood it. Or at least, enough of it to make an informed opinion.

Heading to the door, the gerudo queen scooped up a purse. Done up in a style similar to her former archnemesis’s sheikah slate, it felt like the perfect touch here. That, and it provided a nice contrast to her look. Flicking her focus over to the door, Gaia confidently walked over. The likelihood of anyone actually going through the trouble of trashing her original bodies or the multitude of dolls that stood proudly on the various shelves covering her walls was next to none. If it did happen, she had a handful of ways to stop it from occurring again.

Shoving those thoughts away for now, Gaia exited her room. Closing the door behind her, she let her focus shift to that of the hallway. Currently, the scent of baked goods was wafting about, mixing elegantly with that of regal perfumes. Worn by princesses, it was clear she had chosen the perfect time to make her debut. If the other princesses would allow it. They had allowed Leaf, but that was more a case of having a heads-up. She was coming unann-

“Ganon?”

Spinning around, Gaia found herself facing down Leaf and Zelda. The former was adorned in the dress Peach had given her, but had chosen to get her hair done up in a set of massive drill curls. Looking absolutely cute on her, they came just down to her feminine yet regal waist. Face done up in a manner expected of a princess, the finishing touch was a small tiara. A far cry from Gaia’s, it still worked.

“Uh… it’s Gaia and yeah.” Gaia answered and calmed herself. For anyone else, she probably would’ve died inside. For these two, it was a slight embarrassment. Though, that could easily change with a single com-

‘You look quite cute, Gaia.’ Leaf signed and watched Gaia’s face go red.. Lasting a couple seconds, that was all it took to throw her off. Leave it to the future princess to do that here. Not that the gerudo queen hated it in the slightest. In a way, it made her feel all the more welcomed. Even as Princess Peach walked up. Meeting Gaia’s gaze, a chuckle escaped the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom’s lips.

“Hi. I’m Gaia.” Gaia greeted and held out her hand. Feeling Peach grab hold, the shake that followed was nice and firm. A far cry from the dainty appearance Peach gave off.

“Will you be joining us for the tea party then, Princess Gaia?” Peach cooed and got a nod from Gaia here. Afterwards, the gerudo queen reached out to Leaf’s hand. Feeling her grab hold, care was taken to not accidentally create cracks on her skin. While more than durable enough to take everything thrown at it, that didn’t change the fact that this body was still a work in progress. Much like Leaf’s transition, there were bound to be changes. Both expected and unexpected. That was just a part of life. One could attempt to control it, but all that would accomplish was make things worse. Instead, it was better to work with it in the hopes of finding common ground and pushing through.

“Beyond Daisy and Rosalina, is there anyone else coming to the tea party?” Zelda inquired as the group headed off. Looking over to Peach, the princess of Hyrule was treated to a chuckle. Responding with a sigh, her attention shifted back to Gaia.

“Is she normally like this?” Gaia inquired and Zelda nodded. Now, it was the gerudo queen’s turn to look over to their host. What exactly did Peach have in store for them? Likely someone that they weren’t expecting to be a princess. Probably someone like Captain Falcon. Yeah. That was entirely in the realm of possibilities. At the same time, it felt like the wrong answer. Who else could even fall under this particular category.

Thankfully, the gerudo queen didn’t need to wait long for the answer. The entrance to Peach’s room was now in view, bringing with it a tall, towering figure.

Dressed to the nines in what looked to be an antebellum-style gown, petticoats, lace and other feminine flourishes were on full display here. Hair done up in a fiery red beehive, red eyes stared out at the approaching group.

A brunette stood beside her, trying her hardest to not distract from her companion’s showcase. Or at least, until they were pushed into the spotlight. Bright red gown with pale orange accents was on full display here. Rather than a super crown, what looked to be a tiara with eyes peered out. Something that did little to detract from the locks of fluffy hair reaching down to her waist. Cute little mushroom earrings hung to her ears, making her blue eyes sparkle that much more.

“Oh my.” the taller woman announced, craning her neck to meet Leaf and Gaia. Focused more on the latter than the former here, a smile formed on her lips. “So that’s why you wanted the Super Crown. For the record, we did try one with Leaf. Dang thing didn’t work.”

Gaia’s attention shifted to Leaf.

‘It mostly tingled. I don’t think you would’ve enjoyed it.’ Leaf signed and Gaia raised an eyebrow. Nice as it was to know that little snot wasn’t lying, he could’ve at least told her that. Oh well.

Turning her focus back to this tall, beautiful lady, a sigh escaped the gerudo queen’s lips. ‘Bowsette, her name is Gaia.’

Bowsette nodded and bent down ever so slightly. Now meeting Gaia’s gaze, a moment was taken to look over the craftsmanship of her body. Expected from someone as beautiful as Bowsette, that still left the mystery of her companion. Clearly fine with both of them, her attention was more on Peach than that of her. Did this just not phase her or did she not want to give away her actual identity? Gaia couldn’t say for cer-

“Princess Maple, at your service.” the shorter woman greeted and did a curtsey for the trio. Leaf and Zelda curtsied back, while Gaia chose to give a wave. Mostly on account of her dress not able to accommodate that. Staring at Maple for just a second, a chuckle escaped the gerudo queen’s lips. She very much knew who exactly this was.

“You’re that red plumber, aren’t you?” Gaia blurted out, ignoring the looks from Zelda and Leaf here. Being met with a nod from Maple, a part of her felt quite nice figuring that out on her own.

“After my trip around in the Odyssey, I may have gotten a couple of dresses in my possession. One thing led to another and Peach caught me admiring myself all dressed up.” Maple explained and Peach nodded. Shifting her focus to the group as a whole, she took the time to unlock her door and open it.

“Uh Gaia, that body is capable of eating and drinking… right?” Zelda inquired and Gaia nodded. Of all the things that had been tested, those particular functions had gone through the most work. Between getting them looking right and not accidentally choking herself, there had been her fair share of blunders. But at the end of the day, it was all worth it. This body would eventually become her permanent one sometime in the future. She highly doubted that Leaf and Zelda wanted some kind of inhuman machine. No, they would much rather have someone who they could interact with like a person. At least, Gaia hoped that was what they wanted. Something to figure out after this tea party.

“Gaia, do you have any allergies?” Peach inquired and Gaia raised a finger to her chin. Was there anything that she was allergic too?

‘Hitting balls of light with swords.’ Leaf signed and got a look from Gaia here. To be fair, dead man’s volley was not really something they had done in a couple generations. Of course, that was ignoring the fact that Leaf kind of spent a century regenerating her body here. While the first couple years were nice, the rest could’ve gone better. There was also the part where she had four additional versions of her, but that was best left untalked about.

“Nothing in the way of food allergies.” Gaia answered as they entered Peach’s room. Tables with the cutest chairs for tea parties had been set up across the room, giving ample room for the participants to sit and enjoy themselves during this brief respite before it was back to beating each other up.

“Anywhere in particular that you two want to sit?” Zelda inquired and watched Leaf and Gaia look over their options. While the pair weren’t normally the sort to agree on anything, this would serve as a good test for their compatibility.

“How about over there?” Gaia suggested and pointed to a table near the northern wall of Peach’s room. Watching Leaf and Zelda look in that direction, the gerudo queen was treated to a nod. Feeling her companions grab hold of her hands, the walk that followed was relatively regal and in a way, graceful. As expected of a queen and her two beautiful girlfriends. Once at the table, the appropriate amount of time was taken getting comfortably seated. With that now out of the way, their attention turned to the doorway. Any moment, whoever was in charge of sweets and tea would come through and bring what would likely be a cart to hold it all down. Yeah, that sounded right.

“Here I am!” a voice announced and Daisy walked through. Rolling a cart in front of her, she had gone through the trouble of filling it to the brim with tea kettles and trays of pastries. Rolling it up to the trio, she set the kettle in the middle. “Oh my. What a trio of cuties we have here.”

Leaf and Gaia’s faces went red. Looking away, they both took a moment to compose themselves. Once they had done so, both ladies turned their attention back to Daisy.

‘Thank you.’ Leaf signed and reached out to Zelda’s hand. Feeling her grab hold, the future princess’s gaze shifted over to Gaia. Doing the same gesture that she had with Zelda, the gerudo queen reluctantly accepted. In a way, this felt wrong. Yet at the same time, it felt right. The oddest feeling to get from holding someone’s hand. But that was the only way that Gaia knew how to describe it. Perhaps there will be more moments like this in the future.

Sadly, Daisy setting a kettle and tea cups on the table cut that thought short. Not that Gaia particularly minded having her thought cut-off. Especially as it was promptly joined by some fresh pastries. A mix of cookies, little cakes and whatever else that Daisy had chosen to bring them today. While the temptation to ask was there, Gaia decided against it. Especially as Leaf had already grabbed a cookie. Gingerly eating it in a couple bites, she looked quite cute while doing so.

Grabbing a cookie of her own, Gaia bit down into it. Swallowing right after, she got ready for next bite. Or would’ve, if not for Demise deciding that he needed to break through the walls again. A couple inches to the left from his last attempt, that didn’t make it any better. If anything, that just made it worse. He had clearly intended to break through the same spot as before and somehow missed. As for the reasoning for missing, that had something to do with the set of heels that Demise was trying their hardest to hide. Was this a result of her and Leaf choosing new paths to go down or was there something else that Demise wasn’t telling them? Hard to say here.

“Hey!” Bowsette announced and stood up. Gracefully approaching the embodiment of evil, she met Demise’s gaze. “We were having a social event, Demise. Have you considered knocking?”

Demise ‘rolled’ his eyes.

“I’m here for the girl in green and that stupid doll.” Demise announced and attempted to push Bowsette away. All that accomplished was getting a fist full of fire.

“You’re going to have to get through me and everyone else here.” Bowsette taunted as she balled up her fists. Maple was not that far behind, more than ready to throw down if it meant keeping Demise out of here.

“They do realize that they don’t need to do that…” Gaia muttered and felt Leaf reach out. What followed was the future princess shaking her a couple times.

‘We will have none of that. You’re just as valid as all the other princesses here and I don’t want you repeating that, ever again.’ Leaf signed and Gaia looked away. Taking a moment to compose herself, she forced her gaze back to her companions. Leaf was right, even if the gerudo queen didn’t wish to admit it here. At least, not yet. Perhaps sometime in the future when the situation the trio was in suited such a statement. Definitely for the best right now.

“Oh. Do you think a couple of princesses are enough to prevent me from getting what I want? Get re-” Demise announced, only to be cut off by his body getting pulled out of the room by way of a black hole bomb. But not before flipping everyone off for good measure. Just to be certain that he had pissed everyone off here.

“Sorry I’m late. The lumas needed one more story from momma.” a voice cooed and Rosalina stepped inside. Feeling everyone’s gaze locked onto her, a sigh escaped her lips.

“It’s okay. You’re here just in time for the tea party.” Peach cooed as she motioned Bowsette and Maple back to their seats. Doing just that, her attention shifted over to Gaia and company. Catching a sigh from the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, that was followed by taking a moment to get herself regulated once more. “Is there anything that I can do for you three?”

Gaia and Leaf shook their heads, taking the time to pour themselves some tea. Zelda on the other hand, looked away. She couldn’t deny it, her heart was at ease while around these two beautiful ladies. Heck, it almost felt as if it was beating that much faster. But that was likely a trick of her ears. Unless it wasn’t. Perhaps she needed to start making preparations. Preparations that would change their relationship. In a good way, if Leaf and Gaia felt the same. Hopefully they did…
