Venus Derby Randomizer Base v2
Added 2026-01-06 06:37:53 +0000 UTCI'm back from vacation, and I bring horse girls! Namely, a second attempt at the randomizer for Venus Derby. As a reminder, VD is a game being made by hmal/slough that I am doing game design for and attempting to create a character randomizer for on the side. In the final product, a characters face, species, arm pose, leg pose, race outfit, colors, etc. will all be randomized while they all share the same torso. You can see here, there is a nude base ready along with mockups for the academy uniform and a race outfit. This idea, to be clear, will probably not work, but it's very cool so I want to try.
I'm very happy with how this looks, but there's still a long way to go to pull off the randomizer. I'm still not sure how I'm going to handle different color palettes or shadows cast by one clothing item over another, so that's next on the chopping block. I won't be able to do much more on the randomizer now that I'm working again, but at some point in the future I may trade games with hmal for around a month so that I can get in a solid chunk of time in on it without leaving VT behind. My hope is that each individual piece of the race outfit will be able to be mixed and matched, with some restrictions on what can be combined. For example, on this one, the visor, halter, bra, jacket, skirt, thong, socks, and shoes would all be separate pieces. They would then have their colors matched to the character's color palette, with as much as possible done via shaders. Each character will then have their own unique race uniform, along with the academy uniform and whatever else.

As long as it is possible to change outfits on the horse girls then it should be possible to also randomize there outfits. Not everyone will want to toggle the setting perhaps but I'm sure it would be possible to implement from a coding perspective.
