Not much to report this month. Very early on, as soon as all my income paid in, I diverted almost all of it to the remainder of my Credit Card Debt. This means all my cards are at a zero balance, and now that they are making better offers to me, my credit score will only continue to go up. I still have something in Collections but finances are still on the upswing. I have to be wary though, some of my assistance is means-tested so if I make too much money over the year I'll really be up shit creek.
I received a gift from a family member for my taxes, so that's not a concern any longer. I believe I am going to file them myself with Keeper Tax (sponsored by Patreon) rather than trust an overworked rural CPA to do it. This probably means I'll end up paying more, but I'm picky and I don't want to draw attention to myself with massive PC gaming hardware deductions. I will probably file the necessary paperwork to pay my 2023 taxes Quarterly so I won't have as difficult a time when Uncle Sam comes knocking again.
Sadly, I had a significant setback in my quest to extract my destroyed teeth. I wasn't able to raise the money (required up front and out of pocket thanks to 'MURCA) within the year deadline so I am going to have to get another referral to the surgeon. I've decided to do this in Lexington in the hope that the dentist will be fairer with me and not insist on an exam and cleaning for teeth that are all essentially lost causes. I am not in any pain but the gum problems mean they will just get worse and worse with time. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated.
To return to the subject of income... my 2022 Tax Return will definitely have unexpected consquences when the time comes to assign Pell Grants for college this fall. I probably won't be eligible. And the United States COVID-19 Emergency officially ended April 1 (FOOLS) so a lot of the financial compensation disbursed for assistance during the pandemic I simply won't have access to anymore. I have no way of predicting how tight times will actually be... the good news is, if I can't afford full-time school, I'll have more time to mod, which means all of you will benefit.
As always, your support is appreciated and extremely gratifying to me.
See you around the Jolly server,
Caco
