About people applauding Xander and Willow dropping their glasses on the floor, it's something that frequently happen in bar and restaurants when someone, usually an employee, drop and break dishes. As to why, maybe people like other people's miseries? I have participated in the applause before I knew that many places make employees pay for the dishes they accidentally break. I'm glad the industry I worked in, electronics, does not have that kind of policy, I and many of my colleagues have accidentally caused damage to equipment that cost more than a few glasses and plates.

2023-12-18 23:13:44 +0000 UTCI was very indifferent to Xander on my first watch through of Buffy. I think I only started liking him in the last couple of seasons. Now that I'm older I actively dislike him, and I wonder if I'll still grow to like him again in the last few seasons. Great reaction as usual Vic! Worrying this much about spoilers is a very modern thing. I think it started after "The Sixth Sense" came out, and more and more stories started relying on huge plot twists to entertain viewers. Spoiling those twists would actually ruin the experience for first time watchers. Afterwards, the fear of spoilers started extending to more and more plot points. The producers wanted the viewers to know about this plot point in order to get them hyped up for Sunnydale's reaction to the return of Angel. Kinda like me knowing that you watched this episode doesn't ruin the video for me, cause I'm here to see and listen to your reaction to the episode, and not try to guess whether you watched it or not. Different times though, and I admit that I've become just as sensitive to spoilers, perhaps even more than most people. I rarely even watch story trailers these days about things I'm already interested in watching.
