2025-09-08 12:26:05 +0000 UTCNAT allows you to connect multiple devices to the Internet using a single Internet IP address instead of using one IP per device. This is important because Internet IPβs are limited. When games/voice chat programs report NAT issues, itβs usually an inbound problem where traffic originating from the Internet is sent to your firewall/router Internet IP, but your device does not know which computer on your internal network to send the traffic too because it originated outside your network vs originating inside your network. The work around is to configure port forwarding on your firewall/router to forward requests on specific port number(s) that your application uses directly to your computerβs internal IP address so traffic that originates from the Internet is directed to the right internal device. This can be challenging if you have multiple computers on your network that need to use the same service because you can only forward each port number to one internal device.
