Added 2019-01-18 00:18:29 +0000 UTCThe new Ghostbusters film will have 4 kids - 2 girls and 2 boys, uncovering a supernatural mystery in a strange town. So basically Stranger Things/IT, but with Ghostbusters in the title.
The main Buster will be a 12 years old girl, described as "off the charts smart and a real “maker faire kid”. She struggles with interpreting and expressing emotions and speaks with a flat delivery that make her observations humorous. She has a tendency to be unknowingly cutting with her comments. She wants to connect but struggles to understand what others feel and how to share her own feelings. Her science acumen proves invaluable throughout the story as she navigates her complicated family dynamics."
A first log-line released for the film describe the plot as being about "A family that moves back home to a small town where they learn more about who they are and about the secrets of the town itself".
Casting for the film is underway. It'll start shooting this summer for a 2020 release date.
Jason Reitman will direct and wrote the script along with Monster House director Gil Kenan.
The original cast are confirmed to appear in the film, which will be set in the same universe as the original.
