Superman/Supergirl

So Cavill had one more appearance in his contract and WB wanted it to be for a cameo in Shazam! Cavill and his team agreed but wanted to renew the contract into a bigger one. His manager asked for too much and talks stopped and both sides haven't talked to each other since. Cavill did not end up shooting the cameo. And the studio decided to shift the focus to Supergirl. That doesn't mean however Cavill is out for good and talks between him and the studio can't start again at some point but not for the foreseeable future.
The first draft for the Supergirl movie was mostly set in space with some parts taking place on Earth during the 70's with Brainiac as the main villain. However it seems like the script is being rewritten so that plot could change. Since WB kind of dropped the "Shared Universe" concept for the time being do not expect much connection if any between this movie and Man of Steel.

That’s a shame, Cavill is the best Superman since Chris Reeves and he’s a genuine nerd and is so dedicated to the character. And nothing against Supergirl, it’s fine that she should get her own shot, but I can’t think of a single major Supergirl story that isn’t involved with or just a ripoff of Superman. I don’t see why they can’t die both characters. Introduce her in a Superman sequel against Brainiac and then let her do her own films while Superman does his.
2019-03-23 00:53:59 +0000 UTCHi Daniel do you know if Cavill's contract has an expiration date like Millers? Just asking because I doubt both sides can wait it out forever. Their has to an endpoint.
