STORY LINE: Still recovering from a recent tragedy in North Carolina, LUCKY EMORY and her husband ALFRED move to Compton, CA in 1953 for a fresh start on life with their two daughters, JACQUELINE & GRACIE. Like the rest of America at this time, they’re in pursuit of the American Dream. However, Compton’s all white community has something else in mind for the Emorys, the first black family on Reeve Street. From the first day in their new home, the Emorys are victims to a concerted plan of harassment perpetrated by their racist neighbors. But initial acts of petty spite directed against the family soon take a turn into something darker and more violent. The Emorys will have to come together like never before to keep their family alive in a struggle against the forces of racial hatred that threaten them from outside their new home and from within it...Please note that some scenes involve overt acts of racism, racial slurs and/or offensive imagery that may be disturbing, especially to young actors...
