Sims/Sim City

Full disclosure I don't believe these films will ever see the light of day, but I thought you might like to see what the movie's version for Sims and Sim City were suppose to be like.


So the Sim City logline reads "A comedic version of a Roland Emmerich-esque disaster movie inside the world of SIMCITY". The script was wrriten by Simon Rich (The Simpsons, Inside Out).


The Sims Movie was written by Brian Lynch (Scary Movie 3) and has a detailed character description telling us about them and the plot;

[KATIE]
Lead Female (26)
As a teenager, Katie was a "funny hot mess, good to her core,"and "happily herself." She would spend hours playing the SIMS with her bff Cliff, but when her parents got a divorce Katie set aside dreams of being an artist for a stable, traditionally successful life. Now Katie's a "VERY put together" Harvard Law
graduate with no social life who is gunning to be made partner at her firm. She's convinced a 401K and a nice apartment are all she needs to make herself happy, in part because her parents' traumatic divorce was caused by her artistic father
being unable to provide for the family. Katie is very judgmental, and doesn't think Cliff is good enough for her (romantically). It's not until she's transported into the SIMS that she begins to understand that life is more than just her career.

[CLIFF]
Supporting Male (27)
Katie's childhood best friend, a "cute nerd" who used to play the SIMS with her all the time. Cliff is not-so-secretly crushing hard on Katie, but she never has the time for him. Ten years later, despite still living at home, Cliff is "more together and
confident than you'd expect." He's dating Nellie, the girl who was obsessed with him in high school, and has a successful YouTube channel where he plays old video games-including the SIMS.

[RICK / STEEL NUGGET]
Supporting Male (20 - 29)
A "brawny, handsome" barista that has slept with Katie a few times, though she is essentially just using him. He is a performer on the side, and is in a "mixed martial arts historical musical called Slamilton." In the SIMS, Rick's lookalike is Steele
Nugget, Katie's bland but handsome husband who eagerly supports her in all of her endeavors, but also wishes they would just "woo hoo" more often so that they can have 7-8 children. Steele is earnest to the core and loves power ballads and, essentially, anything that Katie loves.

[CORA / BELLA]
Supporting Female (20 - 29)
Katie's assistant, Cora is sarcastic and bitter, though she also yearns to befriend her boss. Cora has worked for Katie for three years but knows nothing about her. In the SIMS, Cora is Bella Goth, a friendly neighborhood goth girl.

[DENNIS / STUDIO WORKER]
Supporting Male (50 - 59)
One of the partners at Katie's firm. "Uptight." In the SIMS, his lookalike is Katie's boss at the art studio where she works.

[JARED]
Supporting Male (20 - 29)
"A womanizing douche" who works at Katie's firm and who may make partner before her. In the SIMS, he is essentially still just a douche.

[AMANDA / NELLIE]
Supporting Female (20 - 29)
Nellie is "pretty" and "slim." She's dating Cliff after years of being obsessed with him in high school. In the SIMS, her lookalike is Amanda, who is also dating Cliff but berates and attacks anyone who dares flirt with Cliff.

[PAM]
Supporting Female (60 - 69)
Katie's mom. Well-meaning, wishes she saw her daughter more often. Pam wishes Katie would forgive her for the divorce. In the SIMS, her lookalike is a kindly waitress.

[BILL]
Supporting Male
A wise, "chubby" kid in the SIMS who lives in a tree house behind Katie's house and gives her life advice. Bill turns out to be wise beyond his years because he is actually SIMS creator Will Wright.
