An Update + Sneak Preview

First, I've updated my backer tiers. Pledging $5 gets you an invitation to a special channel in my server, exclusive to backers, which is undeniable proof of good breeding and virility.

Second, here's the status of the adaptation writing: Headhunting will be published in late August, unless some unforeseen calamity befalls me. I had planned it to be written in four parts of similar length, but by the time Part Four matched the previous parts, I found that I didn't have time to include the planned climax.

So now it's five parts. Part Five is in progress and will be completed within a week or two. Then I'll spend the rest of the month editing and proof-reading and all that fun tedium. Then, I suppose it's off to the hypothetical print shop, because I'm doing this as an ebook thing. But who knows, maybe it'll do so well that I can shop it around at a real publishing house and we can have these things as sexy, sexy physical books.

I've also finalized my cover art, pending further edits at the discretion of my undiagnosed ADD. And, no, that's not my real name. Direct your SWAT teams elsewhere, for my dox are secure.

Lastly, I give unto you, attractive, intelligent, and most deeply appreciated financial backers, this early-access preview PDF. I meant to do something like this earlier, but I just couldn't find a good excerpt that would make any sense when divorced of content, and also wouldn't outright spoil anything. Well, now I've got one, and so do all of you. Please, enjoy.

And allow me to say once more that, while I'm generally a facetious shitposter who avoids sincerity whenever possible because I'm emotionally repressed, I 110% mean it when I say that I really, really appreciate each and every dollar you all pledge to my page here. My "real" job isn't fun, it's not the most reliable thing in the world, and it doesn't pay a good enough wage to allow me the level of comfort and financial security I'd like to have. While I'm not raking in the cash here to such a degree that I can retire from that drudgery and dedicate myself purely to making content that you all would enjoy, it is a financial buffer that allows me to breathe a little easier when my regular work is in a slow place, or when the The Man sends me sneering emails to rub my face in the the fact that they were lying about that college debt forgiveness thing.

And so I leave you with this. Updates to my tiers, access to this Discord channel, a sneak preview of the adaptation as it stands now, and this sage advice: Don't go to college. They're lying when they say it's a long-term investment.
