I just subscribed and became a patron after discovering your Harry Potter reactions. You guys are a blast to watch movies along with, and this one was one of the best. Forrest Gump has been one of my all time favorite movies since it came out. I actually went to see it in the theaters on a date, and I liked Tom Hanks before this, but after this, he instantly became one of my favorite actors, and almost 30 years later, he still is. He absolutely encompassed this role and nailed it, and the movie feels like it’s never aged. I’m probably one of the few people I know that didn’t hate Jenny initially. To me, it always seemed like because she had no direction, and then the direction her life ended up going in, she didn’t want to drag Forrest down that road and destroy the beautiful person he was. I truly believed that she always loved Forrest, but he was so good and pure, that she didn’t feel she deserved him. When you are treated like you’re nothing from the time you’re a child, you grow up believing that, and even if someone comes along that thinks you hung the moon, you never see that for yourself. So I never found myself getting mad at her, just really sad for both her and Forrest. Gary Sinise (Lt Dan) also instantly became one of my favorite actors after this movie, and seeing him and Tom Hanks do Apollo 13 together as well a few years later thrilled me immensely. This really was one of the most brilliantly written stories and well casted movies, and it shows in the way it drags your emotions in every direction possible. Also, you guys mentioned the soundtrack, and I still listen to it on a regular basis. I think it’s a shame that of all the oscars this movie won, it’s a shame the music/score wasn’t one of them. Amazing reaction, guys. Look forward to more, especially looking forward to the rest of Harry Potter. :) Take care!
