Suggestion time!

We would like to do a genre specific poll. What genres/films would you like to see us react to?

Edit: we will be doing some horror, thriller, etc… for Halloween so that will not be on a poll for this go around. There will be separate polls for those.

Comments

Old SciFi, Them! (Campy B movie from the 1950s but still stands the test of time). If you want something edgy, Logan's Run (but you will have to cut out some scenes or show your reactions since it is from the 1960s :) but it is thought-provoking). Original Time Machine 1950s. Forbidden Plant, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Alien Nation, Fantastic Voyage, fun, and the kids can watch and learn about the human body, the modern version is Inner Space.

Sandra Behrens

Maltese Falson? Have you reviewed this one? It has Humphrey Bogart in it.

Sandra Behrens

I also liked Now, Voyager, it has Betty Davis in it. I love Betty Davis.

Sandra Behrens

If it is old movies these are some of my favorites. Musical Cabin in the Sky from 1943. It has all the great actors and actresses and famous jazz players like Duke Ellington.

Sandra Behrens

UNFORGIVEN. Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Gene Hackman. Won Oscar for best picture, best director(Clint Eastwood)

Brian McCarthy

Unforgiven

You want western? Got to watch YOUNG GUNS & YOUNG GUNS 2!

Antonio Ramirez

Two favorites of mine are Matilda (1996) and Life is Beautiful (1997) - Fun fact: The leading actor in Life is Beautiful won an Oscar for his performance and there is a video online of that particular moment that shows the just how great and joyous a person he is!

asar

Kinda late with this comment but I absolutely agree! Superman is my favorite superhero and Christopher Reeve's portrayal of his is my absolute favorite! He really know how to completely separate Superman from Clark Kent and it's amazing to see the transformation he goes through to show just how distinct those two personas are. Just the music alone gives me chills when I watch his Superman movies. Although not all of them have the best storylines, just Christopher being this absolute beacon of hope is enough to make me rewatch again and again.

David Simon

Superhero movies! You have to do at least a few of the classics, right? What about the original “Superman: The Movie” with Christopher Reeve? I mean, this is a true classic, and if you haven’t seen it, your reactions will be priceless! Also, Batman with Michael Keaton, and Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire. But please at least do Superman!

David W

The Towering Inferno is such a great choice!

Barb Just Barb

I totally forgot to say Independence Day and Armageddon before! Please, please, please do either or both of them. They're so fun, I think you'd both really like them!

Molly Campbell

OMG, I forgot about Working Girl! Definitely need to do that one!

Molly Campbell

Thank you for suggesting What’s Up Doc? Fun movie.

gbh0031

Working Girl and 9 to 5 are good 80s movies too.

gbh0031

My favorite genre is Disaster Movies. My all time favorite movie is The Poseidon Adventure (1972). The seventies had many disaster movies; The Towering Inferno, Earthquake, Airport (1979), Airport 1975, Airport 77, The Concorde-Airport 79, Meteor, The Swarm. Some very good newer ones are Deep Impact, Dante’s Peak, and The Impossible (this has a young Tom Holland giving an amazing performance.) Another genre is Classics. Films like Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, The African Queen, Gone With The Wind, North By Northwest, Rear Window, The Birds (we all need to see Jay react to this), The Man Who Knew Too Much, The Quiet Man, To Sir With Love.

gbh0031

The movie Clue is pretty awesome and HILARIOUS. Can’t go wrong with Tim Curry. Would also like to see y’all do the other Naked Gun movies

Karen Silvera

If it has Ryan Reynolds I'm there! The Proposal - not the same genre - is my hands down watch when I need a laugh. Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock and Betty White. How can you go wrong!!

Karen Silvera

I love Silverado. I've suggested it in the past....

Karen Silvera

Mystic River too.

Karen Silvera

If they do to kill a mockingbird they need to give Harper's friend Capote a chance too... In Cold Blood and/or Capote with Philip Seymour Hoffman (RIP Brilliant man)

Karen Silvera

Wow. That's a combination. Lol I'd love to see them also react (in addition to all of yours) to Sydney Poitier movies - the Defiant Ones, Lilies of the field, to Sir with love (they reacted to the song on their other channel), Raisin in the Sun and Guess who's coming to dinner.

Karen Silvera

Oooo great subcategory! Biopics. Love the idea.

Karen Silvera

I think there's a few Leonardo films very worthy of watching. Shutter Island, the Revenant, and Inception are a few... Though I think just going down his Wikipedia page would be a great few days - lol

Karen Silvera

Hereditary is probably one of the most disturbing horror movies I've ever seen.

Timothy Casto

Movies done by the Jim Henson Studio, like Labrynth and The Dark Crystal. Move 80s movies like Desperately Seeking Susan, Officer and a Gentleman. Also, Jim Carrey's more serious films, like The Truman Show. Maybe some classic James Bond from the Sean Connery era. More John Candy, specifically Summer Rental.

Molly Campbell

The original Halloween is a classic

Jessica Pustka

Start a letterboxed account!

Rosie S

Lisa Rhodes

A movie I loved watching as a kid during Halloween season was the comedy "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" starring Don Knotts. I know you won't be dissapointed.

BlueEyedRaven

I watched Officer and a Gentleman after all the recs here, and it was a good movie. Not as lighthearted, and actually pretty serious, with some very serious topics coming up. Not sure it can be compared to Pretty Woman. They would like it though, I think especially with them having military family members.

Kristin D

I was born and 61. There are two films that were released in the early and mid-60s. To date, by far, two of my favorite films. One it’s based on a novel, written by Harper Lee… "To Kill a Mockingbird", film released in 1962. It won 3 Academy awards. One for best picture, one for best actor and one for best Art Direction. The other one is a movie that was released in 1967. It stars Katherine Hepburn, Sydney Portier and Spencer Tracy. There were a lot of first in making this film back in the day. Since you enjoyed Casablanca. I can’t help to think that you’ll enjoy these two films as well. Especially being educators. It’s a little glimpse of our history.

Michele Perez

Thriller/Drama/Historical “The ghost and the darkness” starring Val Kilmer (Doc Holiday-Tombstone) and Michael Douglas….a must watch movie thriller with your favorite holiday coming up!…;) https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/ocQS692hIWYA2xEMWhlKV0jixax.jpg

John

Dramas like Running on Empty, Ordinary People, JFK Comedies like Stripes and Back to School also my favorite Wonder Boys.

Richard Wood Jr

Comedys: Arthur (1981 Original Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli) Mrs. Doubtfire (Robin Williams and Sally Field Tootsie (Dustin Hoffman) Victor Victoria (Julie Andrews and James Garner) National Lampoon’s Animal House (John Belushi) Maybe a Hollywood Classics poll but there are so many. A suggestion—-The American Film Institute (AFI) put out a list of the 100 greatest films of all times. It was last updated in the early 2000s. All the great Hollywood classics are on this list maybe have each person pick 3 from the list for a poll.

Geoff Thomas

As you have a music channel, it would be good if you reacted to movies that star some of the musicians you've heard Cher - "Moonstruck" Diana Ross "Lady Sings the Blues" John Denver - "Oh God" Beatles - "Hard Days Night" David Bowie - "Lambryth" Dolly Parton - "9 to 5"

Toby Smith

80’s classics: * Clue * Big Trouble in Little China * Ferris Bueller’s Day Off * Roadhouse * Can’t buy me love Based on True Stories/real events: * Invictus * 42 * Remember the titans * Catch Me if You Can * Argo * Apollo 13 * Erin Brockovich * Hidden Figures * Spotlight Spots Movies: * The Replacements * Remember The Titans * The Natural * 42 * Glory Road * Coach Carter * Ford vs Ferrari * Million Dollar Baby

Callie Stephen

Sci-fi. Also, I think y'all would enjoy the movie Tomorrowland

Turnt SNACO

Mystery movie - suggest "Gone Girl" Romantic - suggest "Sleepless in Seattle" Gangster - suggest "Godfather" Unique Cartoon with Live - "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"

Toby Smith

Typically when you say "genre" in film that means the overall style of movie. To do "actors" is a subdivision or maybe theme.

Carolyn Phelan

The others is a good choice

Nicole Christie

I suggest some classic 80’s action films Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Running man, Total recall, true lies or Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo series starting with First blood or Harrison Ford’s the Fugitive, Air-force one , clear and present danger, blade runner P.S. I just remembered another called the Legend of Billie Jean that you both saw clips of on the Pat Benatar video we will be invincible.

I am Jussina

"Blow" (biographical) "Big Fish" (fantasy) "Rock Star" "Detroit Rock City" (music not musicals) are all great suggestions.

Patty Estrada

I agree about the 3rd one as well.

Kara Davis

Yes to Stargate

Patty Estrada

I'm glad you liked it! It also has Paul Dano, who I'm particularly very fond of as an actor.

Patty Estrada

I love those, although the second one is a very good action movie, but a bad Mission Impossible movie.

Michael J Paulus

Deep Impact

Kristin D

How about disaster movies!

Emily Gray

Love the Drama suggestions, all are great choices.

Patty Estrada

I second "Catch Me If You Can" "Best In Show' and 'Gone With The Wind"

Patty Estrada

1950s Sci-Fi in glorious black and white, well maybe a couple of color flicks.

Bob Watson

I'd also like to see their reaction to the newer Star Trek movies. Well at least the ones directed by J . J Abrams. "Star Trek" (2009) and "Star Trek Into The Darkness' (2013). The third one kind of sucked, IMO.

Patty Estrada

Identity you would love. For suspense.

Lisa Rhodes

Hank's has a contagious laugh in that movie.

Lisa Rhodes

"Arrival" is a good suggestion.

Patty Estrada

I prefer the Judy Garland version from 1954, but I think them reacting to any of the four adaptations of "A Star Is Born" would be nice.

Patty Estrada

Money Pit is such a great comedy! I can’t stop laughing when I watch this.

Jennifer Sanchez

I'd love to see their reaction to "Rockstar"

Patty Estrada

I second "No Country for Old Men" it's a Neo-Western Thriller directed by The Coen Brother's, who ya'll really liked.

Patty Estrada

Mine too.

Patty Estrada

Yes, or "Bridge of Spies" "Notorious" (1946), "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy", "The Imitation Game", "Argo"

Patty Estrada

As for Genres you can do everything from theme to actor. For instance Actor-Tom Hank's Movies The Burbs, The Money Pit, Castaway, That thing you do and so on and so on. Horror- Real True to life Horror -Cujo, Jaws, The Birds so many genres in Horror Comedy Classic's 80's Rom Com Holiday see.

Lisa Rhodes

I think they would love Facing The Giants. Football and family. That sound like their kind of movie.

Jayce

I am a big Horror movie buff and there is so many genres of horror . Horror comedy - Shaun of the Dead very funny Scouts guide Evil Dead and Tucker and Dale vrs. Evil. Then we have Romero and Savini movies ( zombies) Night of the living dead, Then there is monster Frankenstein, Mummy Wolfman ( Classic An american werewolf in London) Bram's Stoker's Dracula to more funny Monster Squad. Then we have ghost - House on Haunted Hill, Thirteen ghosts, The Others, We have slasher, ( Freddy, Michael Myers(Halloween)Jason Vorhees( Friday the 13th) Seasonal Holiday Horror, Trick or Treat, Krampus, My Bloody Valentine . to horror masters Hitchcock's , Vincent Price, Savini, Romero, King to Tarantino are among the greats. It is not just for Halloween .

Lisa Rhodes

Should watch Stallone's first Comedy movie 'Oscar'. It's very funny.

Douglas Custard

I HAVE A FILM FOR YOUUUUU!!!!! The ghost and the darkness, it's a film based on true events and its a thriller. Has your boy Val Kilmer and Micheal Douglas. About the the lions of tsavo and col. Paterson mission to build the bridge across the river while trying to protect the people from the Lions.

KotaMane

Agreed! Would be a great choice for them to watch

Brad West

Western

pat jones

I wasn't sure about the 3rd one. The next ones never should have been made in my opinion

Carolyn Phelan

I love your recommendations. Meant to tell you. I finally got around to watching Looper this past weekend. It was really good, I was completely surprised by it! There were a lot of actors in there that I had no clue would be in it. I knew Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were in it, but I had no clue Emily Blunt and Jeff Daniels were also in it. This was a very good movie!

Troy

Hi Jay and Amber. How about faith-based films! The following films are produced and directed by the Kendrick brothers are well worth your reactions. They are: FLY WHEEL; FACING THE GIANTS; FIREPROOF; COURAGEOUS; WAR ROOM, and OVERCOMER. Enjoy!

Jorge De La Torriente

"Inspired" is a fairly strong word, but okay ;)

Matt van der Harten

Hey Amber and Jay! I used to work in the video store business during the 1990s. I spent a decade doing it and loved it. I’ll suggest some genres for y’all: Cult Classics: movies that are lesser-known but loved by those who have seen them Slasher/Thriller: horror movie villains for Halloween Musicals: Movies like Xanadu, The Wiz, Chicago, etc. Throwback Thursday: how about a movie prior to 2000? For example, 80s or 90s movies or even further back? Best Westerns: Classic western films from the past and recent ones. Laugh Out Loud Funny: Slapstick comedies like Airplane, Young Frankenstein, etc. Based on a True Story: movies based on real people and events

Jeff Mills

Urban Cowboy, or As Good as it Gets😉🤠🥰

Deborah Lewis

They saw Men in Tights a while back, and liked it. There's a lot of us wanting them to watch Young Frankenstein for Halloween. One of Brooks's best movies!

Kristin D

OMG! Maverick, yes please, I'm going to go edit my post and add that to comedy, and also Three Amigos.

Kristin D

Some classic Black & White movies would be fun. They are highly entertaining, and relied in good writing and acting, not special effects.

Kristin D

Yes, since they've already seen Men in Tights, they really need to go watch the movie that inspired it, Prince of Thieves.

Kristin D

For horror… Rosemary’s Baby, The Changeling (George C. Scott starring), It’s Alive, and The Others.

David Croft-Ogawa

I am only going to recommend one small movie. Breaking Away. It is from 1979 and is a coming of age movie as well as a sports movie. Great characters. Funny, heartfelt, and a damn exciting ending. I can never not watch it when I come across it.

William Benton

SPORTS~Major League, Tin Cup, Field Of Dreams, Jerry McGuire MUSIC~That Thing You Do! (Tom Hanks), Urban Cowboy (Travolta), Rock Star, Coal Minor's Daughter ROMANCE/COMEDY~Somethings Gotta Give (Nicholson/Keaton) WESTERNS~The Quick and The Dead, Young Guns COMEDY WESTERNS~Maverick, Three Amigos DRAMA/CRIME~Blow, Goodfellas MYSTERY~Secret Window HITCHCOCK~The Birds, Rear Window, Vertigo ...I know you said you've got Horror covered but~American Werewolf In London, Creep Show are both more horror/comedy, especially Creep Show (the original)

Alice Coulter

Genres—, Classic old time Hollywood, Action, Hitchcock movies, Rom-com

Deb Ralston

Action/Drama : Braveheart, Gladiator Crime/Drama : Godfather, Godfather 2

Shyam Nair

As for action... I suggested this a few times... "First Blood". It is the beginning of a 5-movie series starring Sylvester Stallone. He plays an iconic character that I've heard Jay say he's heard the name, but has no idea about it. I think it would be rewarding for him to place a face (Stallone) to the character name. Ssshhhh... don't give it away. The first of the series is a deep dive into a Vietnam vet's struggle with PTSD and an uncaring nation trying to forget. "They drew first blood, not me."

Chuck

"Silverado" was a good, fun, action-packed western with a great cast.

Chuck

Now that you've been introduced to Mel Brooks, for comedy I suggest anything by him: "History of the World Part One", "Spaceballs", "Robinhood, Men in Tights", "Young Frankenstein" are a few of his funnier ones.

Chuck

Musicals, the general standard genres- comedy, drama, sports or sport-adjacent, classic, mystery, suspense, etc. It makes it easier to suggest or choose when the category is narrowed down.

Leesa

As for music, "Streets of Fire" is labeled as a rock and roll fantasy. Most of the AMAZING soundtrack was written by the now-deceased, Jim Steinman, who wrote most of Meatloaf's songs. I picture it set in the same universe as "The Mask", a wierdly off-kilter version of our universe.

Chuck

Yes, they need to watch the Alien series indeed. Robert Greffey posted above that perhaps it would be an excellent pick for Halloween since it's also a horro flick.

Kristin D

Missing: The Alien series (Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Ressurection). Fantastic scifi/horror. "In space, no one hears you scream."

Chuck

Lady Hawke, another great movie. Medieval/magical fantasy. Hauer and Broderick played well off of each other.

Chuck

Action and/or Drama: Whiplash (2014), The Matrix Revolutions (2003) [please finish the trilogy], Boiling Point (2021), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) Tarantino: Inglourious Basterds (2009), Django Unchained (2012), The Hateful Eight (2015)

Matt van der Harten

Yes!! Watching the Cusacks work together was fun. Minnie Driver was adorable. "You're a psycho!" "No. This is business."

Chuck

Fifth Element!! Great scifi/fantasy. One of my favorites.

Chuck

I think the Hunger Games movies are a good choice too!

Matt van der Harten

I second Kingdom of Heaven.

Matt van der Harten

They have reacted to Indiana Jones 3.

Jayce

12 Monkeys- Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. Fight Club- Brad Pitt and Ed Nortin

Lisa Rhodes

Comedy - That thing you Do -Tom Hanks The Burbs- Tom Hanks The Money Pitt_-Tom Hanks

Lisa Rhodes

The Birds. Come on Jay I am terrified of birds like you . I can watch this movie although this movie was the reason I am terrified of birds.

Lisa Rhodes

Train To Busan is excellent but maybe be to scary for zombie effect.

Lisa Rhodes

Horror for Halloween Slashers- Friday the thirteenth part 6 is my favorite. Halloween 2 Creepy - Zombie Creep Show 1 or 2 Night of the Living Dead Scout Guides to Zombie Apocalypse World War Z The Others- Nichole Kidmen House on Haunted Hill

Lisa Rhodes

Comedy Revenge of the Nerds Animal House Air Heads _- Adam Sandler,Brandon Fraser, Steve Beuchemi. Rom Comedy Just Married Ashton Kutcher, Britney Murphy How to Loose a Guy In 10 days The Other Women - Cameron Diaz Mystery- Secret Window _- Johnny Depp Frailty Seven True Story Blow- Johnny Depp Alive Walk The Line Coal Miner's Daughter Fantasy- Finding Neverland Labyrinth Legend Willow Big Fish Fried Green Tomatoes Music not Musicals Rock Star Detroit Rock City ( Kiss ) Air Heads

Lisa Rhodes

Classic Comedy: Animal House Revenge of the Nerds.

Lisa Rhodes

A great detective movie, with a Christmas backdrop is The Thin Man, stars William Powell and Myra Loy. Very popular movie, they made 4 sequels. This is classic 1930's Hollywood.

prhodan

SciFi, try The Fifth Element (stars Bruce Willis); For Comedy, try Doc Hollywood, or The Truth about Cats and Dogs, for a Classic thriller, try The Third Man (stars Orson Welles) It is a classic!

prhodan

RomCom: "The Truth About Cats and Dogs" I haven't seen anyone react to this on YT and it was a critical and modest box office hit in the mid-90s. Be the first! Hollywood Classic: "The Best Years of Our Lives" A post-war film that is surprisingly relevant today, it won practically every academy award for the year 1946. I'd love to see the both of you react to this.

partikle

I think we may be from the same age bracket. 😁 or you are just an old soul. I,too, like the Albert Finney Orient Express. Wonder if they would recognize "Ilsa"?

Carolyn Phelan

I love Little Giants! No one ever recommends it

Katie Jackson

Sister Act, Grumpy Old Men, and Three Men and a Baby are all really good, funny movies I think you guys would love, and all have sequels that are as good or better. I agree with others who mentioned Schindler's List for a drama. It's a hard watch, but it's a damn good film.

Raven Dark

Primal Fear (Mystery, Legal, Thriller) LA Confidential (Crime, Thriller, Drama, Mystery) Se7en (Crime, Thriller, Drama, Mystery) Train to Busan (Horror, Thriller)

Elisa Mott

Stargate is a lot of fun!!

Kristin D

Musicals: Hamilton (!!!); Chicago; Dreamgirls Drama: Me Before You Comedy: Beverly Hills Cop; Sweet Home Alabama

precious926

Arthouse film. The filmmaker David Lynch is the premiere American director in that department. "Eraserhead" was his first film, and arguably most experimental, so it's probably the best place to start (it's where I did), but directors like Lars von Trier, Werner Herzog and Michael Haneke are also great. I doubt this will be the first (or even 2nd or 3rd) genre to win this kind of poll, but it's something you definitely want to get into down the line when you want to really dive into some dense/deep films. If you thought Pulp Fiction was jarring, you'll be in for quite a ride with this kind of filmmaking.

Jimmie V

Grosse Pointe Blank is my favorite comedy of all time. Good pick.

Jimmie V

Hunger Games!!!

Jennifer Sanchez

Two of my faves!

Jocelyn Haeberle

Comedies like What About Bob and Death Becomes Her, Sci Fi like The Abyss, Stargate. Blade (Wesley Snipes) is kind of horror but is also the first unexpected but very successful superhero movie based on a Marvel comic and helped launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man the next movie they released.

Chantal

Mystery/Suspense - Murder on the Orient Express (the Albert Finney one!) Fantasy/Romance Ladyhawke - (has a great techno soundtrack and fight scenes to satisfy anyone.) Comedy - What's Up, Doc? (Hi-lar-i-ous!) Pillow Talk &/or Lover Come Back (Again, hilarious!) The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!(Totally ridiculous, but totally fun!) I could literally go on for days (want proof? See my movie list on Facebook 😉) but I will spare you that, for now.

Jocelyn Haeberle

Musicals are my favorites: I've seen "Sister Act" mentioned, and I second that. My all-time favorite is "The Sound of Music"! I feel this is a good fit, for y'all cuz it's got music (you're music reacters), kids (y'all love kids), a little drama, a little humor, and the scenery is UNbelievable!! "Mama Mia", with Meryl Streep Rom-com: "Arthur"; it's also a little "fish outta water"-type. Comedy: Almost anything with Whoopi Goldberg: "Burglar", "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "Boys on the Side" Sci-Fi: "Close Encounters", "Cacoon" Drama: "Schindler's List" Shoot 'Em Ups: "Terminator 2" (WAAAY better than 1), "Rambo 1 and 2" (the other ones after that weren't as good; no. 3 was okay) "Bounty Hunter" (true story, with Keira Knightly) "Set it Off", with Queen Latifah

Cat Whisperer

Another movie to add to the Drama category: Mystic River…such a great movie

Jennifer Sanchez

Holes (2003) With Shia Labeouf and Khleo Thomas Short Circuit 1 & 2 with Johnny 5! The Last Boy Scout (1991) with Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans

Angelfish Luva

The Game with Micheal Douglas & Sean Penn will have you on the edge of your seat. Also, "A Simple Plan" with Billy Bob Thornton, Bill Paxton & Briget Fonda is a good movie. What would you do if you found a crashed airplane with dead pilot & a duffle bag containing over 4 million dollars in it?

Sean colenso

Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures is a good one. It tells the true story of 2 friends that murdered one of the friends mother. Because they were only 15, they escaped the death penalty. This was Kate Winslet's first movie & also starred Melanie Lynskey.

Sean colenso

Genre specific would be nice. How about 3 weeks dedicated to classic comedies followed by 3 weeks of professions dedicated to helping humanity such as doctors, lawyers, teachers and then 3 weeks of thrillers in a specific decade like 60's, 70's, 80's...

JL Green

Musical biopics! Like Rocket Man, Elvis or Bohemian Rhapsody!

Awhile ago I suggested doing Academy Award best movies. You've got a number of them already. These were the best of each year. However, maybe start in the 60s then 70s, etc.

Karen Silvera

If they were looking for a new film series to start, the Mission Impossible movies are consistent bangers overall.

Robert Greffey

Rounders, The Last Dragon, Oceans 11 (Clooney version), Schindler’s List, Rambo: First Blood, Twins

Oh me too! Add The Goodbye Girl! Always, and the Stakeout are great too.

They have reacted to the first two Indiana Jones films. I personally don't care for the second one but did enjoy the third one with Sean Connery. Those after that are mediocre at best.

Carolyn Phelan

Yes to "Mr. Holland's Opus" For non musicians the word Opus means work.

Carolyn Phelan

Sci-fi. You haven’t explored that genre much and there’s tons of great movies out there.

Robert...no offense. I am aware it is a remake of "Seven Samurai" alas I have seen it and I am older than that movie. So many movies here recommended are only from around 1980 to present. I look at Musical recommendations and they are more of the modern era. There are some older ones that aren't hokie but seem shuffled. I probably would recommend "Seven Samurai" as a foreign film. I was just going on the original actually named Magnificent Seven. So I guess it's Tomayto...tomato. 😎😆

Carolyn Phelan

coal miners daughter is a good one. and of course hunger games

Nicole Christie

As much as I like The Magnificent Seven, I will take some exception to you characterizing it as the "original" when it's a remake of Akira Kurosawa's classic Seven Samurai (1954). 😉 But both make for a fun watch. [edit] Also, glad someone else besides me brings up Citizen Kane from time to time. Thanks.

I know musicals are difficult because yu have to edit most of the songs to death but I'd like to see you react to these musicals which have heartwarming storylines: * "Mr. Holland's Opus" -- more of a drama with music but also about teaching * "Yesterday" -- great Beatles music, both comedy and drama * "The Wiz" -- based on the Wizard of Oz with a similar storyline but different music and a Black cast. I'm also fond of action and think you'll like these:: • Indiana Jones series in this order: "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Temple of Doom," "Last Crusade," and "Crystal Skull". • "Eagle Eye" • "Avatar" (also a sequel) Animated films -- mostly Pixar/Disney, which you might have already seen because, you know, kid-friendly movies that adults can also enjoy. Some also have qualities of an action movie: • "Encanto" (also a musica) • "Monsters Inc." • "Inside Out" • "The Incredibles" and the sequel • "Mulan" (also a musical plus there's a live action version as well) • "Moana" (also a musical) • "How to Train Your Dragon" (two sequels) • "Brave" • "Tangle" (also a musical)

Shirley Durr

Country - “Remember When” Alan Jackson Comedy - “Rat Race” hilarious!

I'm a sucker for sci-fi, so usually good with that. Gattaca -- Blade Runner (Final Cut 2007) -- Arrival Should sci-fi win, I would make one programming suggestion, and save the movie Alien for October and the horror movie poll.

Robert Greffey

A Star is Born w/ Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Amber this will be your favorite movie. Barbara's legendary singing and acting. Kristofferson, a country hall of fame singer and actor. The music's so perfect. (Paul Williams)

They asked for GENRE. So first list a genre and then list one or two movies from that genre. I also recommend you add the year to your movie of choice. A wide variety of ages here and some movies have the same title whether it's a remake or not. I think when we give them so many titles, it's a challenge to narrow it down.

Carolyn Phelan

Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi!

Since you’re already doing spooky movies for spooky season. I highly recommend more 80s and 90s comedies. Encino Man, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, Bio Dome, Weekend at Bernie’s, License To Drive, 10 Things I Hate About You, Bring It On, Easy Money, Lucas, Teen Wolf, Captain Ron, Dumb and Dumber

I’m telling ya fam … “The Descendants” with George Clooney (2011). It’s a Comedy/Drama about family that takes place in Hawaii. I’ve been with you folks long enough to know what’s a home run on this channel … this is one of them. Batter up?

Rollo Tomassi

Spy, espionage type movies like the Bourne series

Shane Vela

You really need to watch The Godfather as well.

Marc Fewell

Idk what genre they’d be, maybe musical theater, Victor Victoria with Julie Andrews, Chicago with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah and a little 80s High School Football comedy call Wildcats with Goldie Hawn, Wesley Snipes and Woody Harlson 😬

Kathy Carter

I am still waiting for you to see The Hitmans Bodyguard. I know it's not rated that high, but I really liked it. I think the main reason I want you to see it is that it hits everything you like about movies. Lots of action, a lot of humor, a bit of a love story, and a great cast.

Marc Fewell

Have you guys done a real western yet (Blazing Saddles doesn't count)...you should try a few. 'Unforgiven' is outstanding, but there are countless good options.

Brad West

I really want to see you react to Jerry Maguire!

Ashley Nichole

I still would love for you to watch 4 different Richard Dreyfuss films....Close Encounters Of The 3rd Kind...Down & Out In Beverly Hills....Mr Holland's Opus....& The American President. Have Richard Dreyfuss as your theme for the month!

Adam Wyler

Oh, oh! Castaway is good one also with Tom Hanks, it's also a drama

Amanda Wilmot

Maybe some military type films. You could start with the greatest film ever made, Lawrence of Arabia. (The restored edition overseen by Steven Spielberg)

MotoDork

Musical Comedy (covers two of your channels lol) - Sister Act & Sister Act 2

Fuiono Ching Sung

More horror, comedy & Psychological thriller, like Psycho & Silence Of The Lambs were such fun watches with you 2. And more romcom, Jay's been an example of what I say is most common with people & Romcoms, the idea of what a "romcom" is deters, but a good, entertaining & engaging movie is not bound by its subgenre. Plus as much as fall is horror movie season I'd say it's just as much romcom season, movies you cuddle up to watch.

J.Fro90

Horror movies for Halloween, or comedies

Casey Salley

Rom coms from the 90’s
