2023-02-22 14:17:04 +0000 UTCHey Jay and Amber, Thank you for keeping the blurred screen up throughout the movie. It helps so much. The warehouse where she lives would be considered a loft. Many buildings are renovated into loft apartments, similar to where Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore lived in the movie Ghost with lots of space. I was 13 years old when this movie came out and yes, leg warmers were the trend. I had them in several colors. The sweatshirt off the shoulder became a big thing after this movie. Her friend, Tina, who kept talking about a guy not calling her and performed to the song “Manhunt”was a real dancer as well as an actress. She played Penny in Dirty Dancing (Patrick Swayze’s dance partner) and she was also in Staying Alive with John Travolta which is a sequel to Saturday Night Fever. Jennifer Beals had a dance stand in who wore a wig. You can tell during the final dance. I do have a request for future reactions though, please be mindful how much you talk over the dialogue, sometimes you are talking about your personal experiences or a memory and you miss important information about the movie.

Great time rewatching Alex become comfortable and confident enough to explore areas offstage such as her budding sexuality and the world of technical dance training. In addition to Gloria, Laura Branigan sang Imagination during that photosensitive stage segment. I look forward to the next screening.

The grl that danced to Man Hunt (Cynthia Rhodes aka Tina Tech) also stared opposite John Travolta in the 1983 film Staying Alive a sequel to Saturday Night Fever. A really great dance film, also filled with J's fav Bee Gees. Cynthia also played Penny in Dirty Dancing. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
