2023-03-13 15:04:26 +0000 UTCI saw this movie probably ten times in the theaters. There is a small town near where I grew up where dancing was "banned". Not really a written law, just a bunch of adults thinking they knew what was best to prevent the drinking and fights that always break out. This is one of those movies that if you watch as a teen/young adult, you want to rebel so hard. We just wanted to play our music loud and dance. But as an adult/parent, you can actually identify with the parents in the movie who are just doing the best they can with what life has handed them. I remember in the 80s learning that there are many small towns sprinkled through the bible belt that didn't allow dancing or even alcohol to be sold. I don't know if that's still the case today. Love to you both!!

There seems to be little patreon subscriber interaction or direction. I'm not typically one to complain but if this is not addressed going forward then I will simply let the subscription money do the talking and more my interests elsewhere. I understand real life issues can complicate things so I have been patience until now. Please focus on a bit more structured reaction schedule and selection process. I love your reactions, personalities, and joy of discovering a good to great movie. Thank you.

It has John Thigow Off Third Rock , It has the Mom off lost boys and Edward Scissor hands. Sarah Jessica Parker ( Sex and the City) There is still cities that are like that no music and dry counties where you can't sell alcohol. Not trying to bring politics to the front but the republican's have already started to ban books. even Dr. Suess. There has been several 70's and 80's parties you can find even cruises you can go on with those themes We can't move like that anymore but you two could. CRY BABY- Johnny Depp Or HAIR SPRAY _ John Travolta, Queen Latifa, Christopher Walkin ICONIC MOVIES WIZARD OF OZ both set in the 50-60's segregation and music.

Yes, we had times of book bans (where they did actually burn books), music bans, dances, etc. Sadly we fought hard to change those things and now we're going back to banning books, music, movies, shows, etc, crazy. 2023-03-13 02:14:28 +0000 UTCThe hot soundtrack is no accident, as this was another one where the record biz and Hollywood were eager to help cross promote. The soundtrack landed ahead of the movie, so probably helped with some of the toe tapping in the theater crowd to be familiar with hits already on the radio. And the dance montages are ready made for MTV, another trend Hollywood was eager to cash in on. Oh, and according to Wikipedia (so... you KNOW it's facts. π), the film is loosely based on the town of Elmore City, Oklahoma, where dancing was banned in it's founding in 1898. And as long as we're featuring Kevin Bacon, I can't depart without pitching a favorite of mine before I leave co-starring him. Tremors. Really, you need to watch Tremors. Did I mention my mom loved it?

Footloose is a good movie and has great tunes no doubt... but you never say what you're going to watch next! When you ended your reaction to the Deathly Hallows 2, YOU SAID YOU'LL BE GETTING BACK TO STAR WARS once you said that, I was overjoyed at the news! but you've been backtracking you've been considering movies that have either lost closely in polls (Steel Magnolias to Vacation) or getting into movies suggested in your music channel (Footloose) other than Glory and American Graffiti (I greatly tolerated those two since Glory was appropriate for BHM and I thought at the time AG was a lead-in to Star Wars), I've been underwhelmed on your track of movies lately I feel like I'm being lured and getting punked to be honest, i don't like it the better move would have been to get into one of those movies after each episode of the prequels you know... "in-between" flicks Vacation, SM and AG would've been perfect I'm beginning to think you're dodging SW i'm coming into the third week of waiting for them to appear on here i'm getting absolutely flustered, frustrated and worried You haven't been posting that many updates on what you're diving into next all you've said was you'll be getting into Vacation (and AG then backtracked to Glory and pushed AG back a week), which won your latest poll you said nothing about visiting the 2nd place winner as mentioned above the point here is i always thought this channel had a linear flow to it, at least it did when you started mainstream franchises like LOTR and HP you watch a part then an "in-between" and rinse & repeat i thought it would reset when you announced your intent of revisiting SW at the end of DH #2 YOU EVEN SAID IT IN YOUR LATEST POLL TEXT BACK ON FEB. 20TH! "...soon after we finish the Harry Potter series we will be visiting a galaxy far far away...!" didn't "soon after" mean your next Movie Monday (March 5 for early access) when that video dropped? i guess not even though I enjoyed watching AG with you i was still massively disappointed it wasn't The Phantom Menace plus it didn't help that you had trouble posting the videos all night, thereby making me wait an extra 12 hours it made the disappointment that much more bitter The point here is this: PLEASE POST MORE PROMPT AND SPECIFIC UPDATES let us know what you're doing if you aren't sticking to what you explicitly promised 1.
