If you like this, you'll love Hooper (1978) with Burt and Sally. Jay mentioned Burt was in The Longest Yard (but I assumed he meant the Adam Sandler remake)...check out the original with Burt as the QB...and Junior (Mike Henry) was a guard football player in that one, too. Love your reaction!

Y'all have watched one of the true classics of it's day. Films like this are long gone when it comes to both comedies and road movies. The trucker/CB radio phenomenon was all over the place when this movie and others like Convoy and Cannonball Run were big in the theaters.

And yeah. Trans Am sales went from 68k the year Smokey and the Bandit came out to 93k the following year

Back in the day, if someone got beaten badly in a race you'd say they got "smoked" and it always reminded me of ol' Smokey and tricks they pulled like the truck drivers putting him in the rocking chair. He was just out of their league.

Jerry Reed, aka snowman, sang many of the songs in the soundtrack. Also, I recall hearing Jay say he was a fan of Adam Sandler movies before, so you may remember Jerry Reed as the mean coach in Waterboy movie

Sally Fields was so young in this movies. Sally Field played so many characters She has played Gidget, and a Flying NUN too . Sally Fields and Burt Reynolds were a item . Yes Burt Reynolds was the man back in the day.Black Trans am t top . It also had the great Jackie Gleason, and Jerry Reed. Amber you didn't look to thrilled about watching this. The Big Lembowski would have been a good choice for the both of you. Funny and action packed. John Goodman,Steve Boscemi and , Jeff Bridges.

Burt Reynolds had the "bad man" vibes all over him for his entire career this movie brought them out the most he was definitely one of the "Sexiest Men Alive" from everyone else's point of view but not People Magazine that's a shocking fact how can one with that mustache and those eyes not win that honor?
