I love watching these movies through your eyes. I am really excited for you to watch the next set. I loved Ep 7, ADORED Ep 8 (which I know is contentious in SW nerd world lolol - 2nd best to Empire IMHO) and .... Ep 9 was the last movie I saw in the theatres and that's all I have to say about that movie for now lol

I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the prequels! I had really mixed feelings when they came out originally (it was also painful to wait in between the movies), but since then I've learned to like them a lot. Can't wait to watch along the sequels, I think you will like them! There are a lot of polarizing opinions and I hope you don't read them before watching 😄

As my children grew up (16 and 18 now) they watched "The Clone Wars" which follows Anakin and Obi-Wan through the Clone Wars (7 seasons of animation). The storylines are deep as you see Anakin grow up as a Jedi, and as he takes on his own padawan (Ahsoka Tano) which grows him up; she is like him and eventually becomes family to him. The last season of Clone Wars sees Ahsoka Tano leave the Jedi Order, which deals Anakin a severe blow to his emotional state. She survives Order 66 and the Jedi Purge, and shows up in other series, though her connection to Anakin Skywalker makes for tears as she then meets Luke Skywalker, (Grandmaster) and begins helping him train baby yoda..Grogu. What also makes The Clone Wars (1-7 seasons) amazing is to see how the Jedi Order and Council changes (the Council is the pinnacle of leadership, both old and modern), and how Senator Palpatine gradually erodes them through the years to the final mess that is shown in Episode III. Sadness but informative.

Growing up with the OG Trilogy, I was always more of a Han Solo fan. So not so much into the Jedi thing. And then somewhere in the middle of episode 6, decided the Jedi were kinda awful. Most of the action of the prequels is centered around the Jedi, or the gun-toting politicians drawn into the action.
So I think a shortcoming of the prequels for me is that there was no loveable rogue type character. Perhaps instead of a smuggler, a pirate. Or if that's still too on the nose, a hard-boiled detective type drawn into the story. Just please, not a bounty hunter. I'm kinda over Star Wars' obsession with bounty hunters. But something where you can buy them as a person handy in a fight or action sequence. Just perhaps with a more colorful personality to counter the serene and wise nature of the Jedi, or the calm composure expected of queens, senators, or people of great power.
But I figured Amber and Jay would be down for this installment, and made a good reaction. Also, I think a lot of fans felt cheated by not getting Darth Vader in armor being a badass. Probably why they love the end of Rogue One. But I actually thought seeing the short career of pre-suit Darth Vader was kinda interesting.

I agree. Definitely one of my favorite roles of Gary Oldman. I did recommend both Leon and The Fifth Element earlier in here. I would like both of them to be reacted to as well.

The reason why most people don’t like the sequels are Jar Jar Binks, lazy writing, on the nose dialogue, and went full CGI digital and left out a lot of practical effects. I see those flaws but don’t hate the films. Just not as good as the original trilogy.

The Professional is a great movie. Plus is has Gary Oldman who played Sirius in Harry Potter. And if they like that, maybe they'll Try Fifth Element, since it's by the same person, Luc Besson.

Yes, and I think this is what is missing from the new “Star Wars” films and TV shows: George Lucas. Give Peter Jackson this: he consciously did everything he could and went above and beyond to respect Tolkien’s vision to honor him. Disney has done the opposite with “Star Wars”. To them, it’s a cash cow to make money IMHO.
Remember, “Star Wars” was and is an independent film. Lucas had to finance those films out of his own pocket. They were his stories from his brain that he was passionate about from his youth.
Did you know that before “Empire Strikes Back” that he consulted with a child psychologist to figure out how children would react to Darth Vader being Luke’s father? Lucas knew that the audiences would never buy Luke getting killed. So what did he do? He figured out that if Luke was tempted to join the Dark Side that would make the audiences worry. What if Luke followed his father? There was the tension. But Luke is smarter than his father. And he is the one who saves his life as Anakin saves his. The son becomes the father. The father becomes the son.

Not only did anakin turning to the dark side not save padme. It directly caused her death. He worked so hard to prevent a future from happening that he ended up becoming the reason it happened.

See Evil will take the things your scares you the most. They can read your mind so Evil used his wife and baby.To turn Anekan( Darth Vader) evil. They did bury her like she was still pregnant so Darth Vader though they all died. I hope you do the movie Airheads - Addam Sandler, Steve Buscemi, Brendon Fraiser, Chris Farley, Michael McKean,Michael Richards, Joe Montagna Ernie Hudson , David Arquete and Judd Nelson. With special guest I played D and D too the legend Lemmy.

I love the fact that you loved these prequels. I've just never been able to get into them. I was born in 1981, so I grew up loving the original Star Wars films and by the time these prequels came out, the original films were so engraved in our minds that nothing could live up to it. The prequels had so much hype built up that when they were released, many of us were bored with the slower pacing and the wooden dialogue; which was not the fault of the actors. I've always felt this cast was wasted on bad dialogue.
The sequels, episodes 7, 8, & 9 are much better with dialogue. So I can't wait until you get to them.
I do have to recommend that you watch Rogue One before you watch the sequels as it bridges the gap between episodes 3 and 4. There is also a star wars film about Han Solo called Solo that is worth watching too, in my opinion.
Other than that, my personal favorite Star Wars film is The Empire Strikes Back. The tension throughout coupled with the humor and the reveal of Vader being Luke's father has always stayed with me. Love it!

Have Bria and Kiya (and maybe Luca?) watch a game show on YouTube called Jedi Temple Challenge it's a really fun and adorable game that promotes teamwork, discipline and skill i think at least one of the girls would get a kick out of it

The name for the killings of the Jedi, "Order 66", that act turned out to be the event that has SO MANY perspectives the Disney shows that have released over the past several years bring us into the eyes of other characters around the galaxy OR the Jedi Temple not present in the original movie and shows us what happened to those characters and how they processed the whole thing Order 66 grew into a big traumatic monster that only spent 5 minutes of Revenge of the Sith it really was bigger than anyone thought

Hello Jay and Amber!
Happy to hear you really loved the role of Padmè Amidala portrayed by the wonderful Natalie Portman. I truly would like to recommend her debut breakthrough role in "Lèon" (1994), also known as "The Professional".
She was only 12 years old while filming, and believe me this is such a great movie! I simply can`t recommending it enough. Action/Drama Thriller with intense characters and story. Moviemaking at it`s finest in it`s genre!

Did you notice the similarities in how Anakin turned evil and Vader back to good? When he chose the person manipulating him (and his wife) over the group of people who raised him from a child AND THEN his only son over that puppet master he served needlessly for over 20 years? The angles, the location (near a bottomless drop from many stories) the stakes, Palpatine's Force lightning George Lucas said this saga would rhyme and THIS moment was the most important I believe he purposely did that to symbolize the start of Anakin's fall, just like how saving Luke ended his time as Vader This trilogy does make that redemptive act much more potent and meaningful because of everything you saw him do (murdering Windu and the younglings at the Temple, choking his very pregnant wife half to death) having the love for a child you wish you knew bringing you back to your senses after that past is extremely powerful
Another similarity is the fight with Dooku at the beginning That chair that Palpatine sits in is of the kind that he sits in on the second Death Star AND both scenes take place on a location that's in the middle of space (Vader fought Luke in front of the Emperor on the second Death Star) George really wanted to paint us a mirror for certain scenes I love it!

Hey, Amber and Jay! This was such an enjoyable yet emotional movie and so was your video. I saw this in the theater in the summer of 2005 with my sister. It is the best of the Star Wars prequels by far. My ex-girlfriend saw it a couple of years ago when we first started dating and she loved it. She agreed with you that it’s the best of all the movies.
The later sequels (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker) are not as good per most Star Wars fans, but I still recommend watching them.
I also want to recommend checking out the Timothy Zahn “Thrawn Trilogy” novels. They take place after “Return Of The Jedi” and are very good. They were released in the early 1990s.

Episode three is my favorite. Like you, I couldn’t wait to find out how Anakin turned into Darth Vader. And it’s crazy that love was a big part of the reason. But you can see now how Luke could feel a little bit of good in Darth Vader in return of the Jedi. Well, least I could. Not till the end. Did he realize what a mistake he made, but by that time, he was into deep and had nothing to live for. When this movie came out, the next film would be episode four also known as Star Wars. But in the meantime, another movie called rogue, one was created, and that movie occurs between this one and Star Wars. I think you might like it. If you want to keep on the Star Wars universe. Loved your reaction as always. May the force be with you.

The next movie you need to watch is Rogue One (like I mentioned above) it's a dark war film that gets into the filthier side of the Rebellion while stealing the first Death Star's plans one of my favorite SW properties outside the nine movies
But YOU NEED TO REWATCH EPISODES lV,V AND Vl to connect the dots a little better now that you know what happens seeing Anakin's story play out in order gives more context

Qui-Gon being mentioned to be thriving in the Force is the answer to how Yoda and Obi-Wan AND Anakin became Ghosts in the original trilogy it's the ultimate discipline that a Force-user can master: being able to retain your consciousness after death Qui-Gon was in the middle of learning this skill when Maul killed him in the Phantom Menace since he didn't complete the training Qui-Gon can only appear as a disembodied voice he later taught Yoda this and Yoda taught Obi-Wan, on how to communicate with Force Ghosts while alive AND dead this is another way how Qui-Gon is a favorite he covered all his bases, he served the Force and not just politics and he was a most spiritual man if he was alive, Anakin wouldn't have fallen the way he did
Qui-Gon and Luke were right Anakin WAS the Chosen One after adding up all of these six movies the prophecy came true when Anakin came back in Return of the Jedi and threw the Emperor over that shaft it just took longer than expected to have balance in the Force restored (or so we thought... the sequel trilogy interestingly had other plans

We found out more about Vader than we knew watching the original trilogy For example, we see that it wasn't just his right hand/arm that was mechanical (Luke cut it off in Return of the Jedi) his ENTIRE BODY WAS That suit that kept him alive was Palpatine's design it was to keep Vader in line and not use his entire power he KNEW Vader wanted to kill him since that's the way of the Sith at this time - just like how Palpatine killed his master Darth Plagueis in that story he told Anakin (Yeah, that legend wasn't just a legend it really happened it was how Palpatine rose to power)
Thinking how Palpatine concocted this grand master plan is one of my favorite things about this series he's the ultimate chess player even more than Voldemort in Harry Potter he had many pawns (the Separatists, the clone army, the Republic, his apprentices) he embraced the idea that the galaxy should be ruled under one person, under complete and utter order and submission, for all time, just like the Sith did it thousands of years prior, only he knew how to centralize that power to him and him alone bringing the Jedi to its knees was probably the icing on the cake

The kid that attacked the clones when Senator Organa was at the Temple is played by George's adopted son, named Jett in fact, George's kids have appeared all through the trilogy HE was even in a scene, only for a few seconds though

I've seen you give props to the CGI all trilogy but I have not ONCE heard you laud the masterful music that John Williams composed (for that matter not even the original trilogy)
1. Duel of the Fates (The Episode l duel)
2. Love Theme from Episode ll
3. Battle of the Heroes from here in Episode lll (Anakin vs Obi-Wan)
4. The music when all the Jedi are murdered
5. When the Empire is born (Anakin kills the Separatists and Palpatine talks to the Senate)
6. When Anakin and Padme stare at each other from across the skyways of Coruscant
This movie had more choral pieces than all of the other movies combined - this music makes this series a space opera
John Williams was the PERFECT choice for all of these movies he's done ALL NINE MOVIES of the saga if you ask me, he's enjoyed writing music for Star Wars the most because he's written SO MANY themes for characters, locations and themes
Again, you'll be hearing music from this man alot in the movies you'll be seeing on this channel John's career is MASSIVE
