New Poll!

Hey guys vote away! Also the next poll will be a genre poll, comment down below what type of movie you would like us to watch and suggestions that match as well.

Comments

Great movies. I’d add A Few Good Men.

Al Batista

Have you considered watching the Marvel movies? Have you seen them already?

Al Batista

Xanadu

Jason Register

Contact" should be in this poll!!!

Marie247Art

Bette Davis! My favorite!

Marie247Art

Comedy.

J-Rob

This is a very interesting movie!!

Kristin D

Hello! 👋. I highly recommend watching the movie, All About Eve. Fantastic screenplay and performances. It would be great to introduce you to some amazing black and white movies from the 40’s and 50’s.

David Croft-Ogawa

I disagree, and I think they would really enjoy the story itself.

Kristin D

The Coen Brothers are awesome and I’d suggest any of their films including True Grit. But their 2010 film is a remake of the 1969 original with John Wayne and Glen Campbell. This is a classic American western and the only film John Wayne won an Oscar for. You guys should see both but it’s really a crime if you don’t see the original first. True Grit 1969 with John Wayne, Glen Campbell, and Kim Darby. Directed by Henry Hathaway

Geoff Thomas

As mentioned elsewhere, a live Broadway show is a very different experience from a movie adaptation. Thinking on the subject, I came up with several options that are well done—West Side Story (the original film version) and Cabaret. Oklahoma would be a possibility. There is always Sound of Music, but most everyone has already seen that.

Deb Ralston

I would love for you to check out Remember the Titans with Denzel Washingon. Football movie, based on a true story. With that in mind...Brian's Song with Billy D. Williams, also a football movie based on a true story. You loved Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, you should check him out in another baseball movie, For Love of the Game, and in a thriller No Way Out. Someone also recommended a movie I've been recommending for a long time...The Beatle's A Hard Day's Night. I know that will be hard with copyrights, however.

Trina Smith-Patterson

I can watch Harrison Ford in ANYTHING!!! Great list!

Trina Smith-Patterson

Be pretty boring reaction

J-Rob

A Beautiful Mind (Russell Crowe) is a wonderful movie about John Nash, a brilliant mathematician with schizophrenia. Based on a true story.

Kristin D

True Lies, yes! The Fugitive is an excellent movie. Dave, I really hope they watch this sometimes. It's so UP!

Kristin D

Edge of Tomorrow is a whole lot of fun!! Usual Suspects, I think they'd really enjoy this one. I think they would like, and Amber would adore Little Miss Sunshine. Tropic Thunder...heh....

Kristin D

Good movie choices! I would love to see you react to a legal thriller. Two of the best are “A Time to Kill” and “The Pelican Brief.” Great actors and storylines in both. 😁

Janell

I like the sequel very much and I do see why some people do not like the original. It is the pacing as it is a slow paced movie, but that's why I think it is a very good movie as it forces you to focus on the plot and to pay attention. But I do love the sequel.

Troy

Love me some Blade Runner for sure. But I also totally get why some people don't like it. Some of that's the pacing, but there's also the element where the movie does not do a lot to explain the world it's plopped you into. I kina like that. But certainly do the 2007 final cut if you go there. Even though I've loved the film since I was 12, I must say I think the recent sequel ended up a better film.

Robert Greffey

Thanks for poll! Since I did ask for more of them, I'd feel impolite not thanking for when you deliver. Even if my pick ends up losing, it's still fun watching the horse race. Plus they're helpful to see what you're interested in, and vice versa. I'm not real keen on two of the choices, so it boiled down to a tough choice between Apollo 13 and Roger Rabbit for me. As much as I do love my sci-fi, that was winner of the last genre poll. But if it does come back up, I'm always plugging Gattaca and Arrival. But maybe Thriller v Musical v Drama v Action. Dunno. Just spit ballin'. I'll spare listing titles until we got some genres to choose from. Okay, maybe pitch one of those titles I frequently do before I leave. Let's see... I don't think I've pitched Tremors in a minute or two. You guys should watch Tremors. It's kinda like Jaws, but in the desert, and played more from a comedic angle. It's awesome.

Robert Greffey

I would suggest, 1. Hidden Figures, (based on a true story, great movie!!) 2. Hunger Games (drama and action, all 4 movies as it takes all 4 to tell the complete story. The 1st movie is more if background and setup for the series. These movies have some if the best acting you will see. Superb cast). 3. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (pure comedy! And as teachers, you both will love it!!), 4. Elvis, the new Elvis movie. A must see! 5. Coalminer's Daughter, autobiographical movie of Loretta Lynn. A must see! 6. Walk the Line, about Johnny Cash. A must see! 7. Hunt For Red October, drama and more Sean Connery!!

Jayce

Good evening! Here is another good true story sports movie. It is Invincible, and here is a trailer for you to check out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e86d1oaNetk

Silentwolfie62

Great list Deb lots of winners here!

Geoff Thomas

Watch heavy metal

Jason Register

Action/Adventure True Lies (Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis) Speed. (Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock) Air Force One (Harrison Ford) Road House. (Patrick Swayze) Superman (must be the 1976 film with Christopher Reeve) SciFi 12 Monkeys (Bruce Willis) Blade Runner (Harrison Ford) Cowboys and Aliens (Harrison Ford) Crime Drama Witness. (Harrison Ford) Lethal Weapon (Mel Gibson, Danny Glover) The Fugitive. (Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones) Girl Power Working Girl (Melanie Griffith, Sigourney Weaver) 9 to 5 (Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton) Pitch Perfect (Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson) Powerless guys pretending to be girls Tootsie. Deb Ralston

Action movie: Bullet Train; Tarentino film (which is it's on genre): Jackie Brown; Mystery: Knives Out; Horror/Comedy: Tucker and Dale v Evil.

Kimberly Jenkins

Genre: Neo Noir/Film Noir - "L.A Confidential" (1997) "Chinatown" (1974) 'The Usual Suspects" (1995) / "Double Indemnity (1944) "Rebecca" (1940) "Laura" (1994) "The Maltese Falcon" (1941) Genre: Sci-Fi Action/Thriller - "Minority Report" (2002) 'Looper" (2012) "Inception" (2010) "Edge of Tomorrow" (2014) Genre: Ensemble Cast - "Little Miss Sunshine" (2006) "Magnolia" (1999) "The Grand Budapest Hotel" (2014) "Oceans Eleven" (2001) "American Hustle" (2013) "Tropic Thunder" (2008) "Spotlight" (2015) This last one might tough to watch due to it's subject matter, but the same goes for a lot of other good movies.

Patty Estrada

"True Grit" is a great western from the Coen Brothers (you've liked Fargo and The Big Lebowski so far). It also stars Jeff Bridges, who played The Dude.

Patty Estrada

A Broadway poll might be interesting but honestly there are very few good movies based on Broadway plays. Broadway and musical theater as a whole is a different experience when live musicians and actors perform do a live audience there is a feeling a magic that can happen that just doesn’t come across on film. I suggest a music movie category and here I mean movies with music as there theme including some great bio pics and documentaries as well as fictional stories. For example The Beatles in A Hard Day’s Night or Help! or Yellow Submarine. The Who Quadrophenia or their classic Rock Opera Tommy (featuring Elton John as the pinball Wizard and Tina Turner as the Acid Queen. The Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter. Pink Floyd’s The Wall, The Last Waltz which present the farewell 1976 concert of The Band (you reacted to The Weight from that movie with the Staples Singers). This is Spinal Tap a 1980s Mockumentary about an aging British Heavy Metal band. Elvis That’s theWay It Is was a documentary showing the week leading up to his opening in Vegas ending with the complete show itself from opening night in 1970 crowd packed with celebrities it was Elvis return to live stage performing after spending most of the sixties cranking out mediocre motion pictures. Biopics like Ray about Ray Charles Rocket Man about Elton John and Bohemian Rhapsody about Freddy Mercury. So many more but a great tie in to your reaction channel.

Geoff Thomas

Ray and a Hard Day’s night are ones suggested a lot and sound interesting to us. However we keep forgetting about them. We will check out the others mentioned as well. We have seen The Hangover, too many belly laughs to count!

Jordan Robinson

Oh a Broadway poll would be fun to do one day! We’ve mentioned our daughter does musical theater, so that would be interesting for us. I’ve heard of Hamilton as well!

Jordan Robinson

I'm dying for you to watch Hamilton! Before I knew what it was, I thought "ugh, a broadway show? no thanks" but it is SO different than what you think. It is *genius* hip hop and rap and r&b, with war, love, betrayal, humor... you will laugh, cry, have every emotion. There's a reason it's so popular, it's just really, really good.

Maya Bairey «SupermodelSquad»

You both would like them. Both are great sci-fi movies but, more importantly, they are both very different from one another.

Troy

Hot Fuzz! So good!

Maya Bairey «SupermodelSquad»

It was my absolute pleasure! I'd be happy to continue doing it! I think we have most of the same tastes! Exploring them would be great! For example, you've watched some of Steven Spielbergs movies already... but there are more I would like you to see! One you MUST watch is Schindlers List, a gripping and very serious true story of the Holocaust, a movie that almost tore Spielberg apart since he's a Jewish man Again, thank you for the call and hope I can continue helping you out! ❤️

Karl Kraus

Thank you for helping us out this week Karl!

Jordan Robinson

Blade runner has been a top suggestion. Looks like Minority Report is one as well.

Jordan Robinson

Star Wars, The Force Awakens really revitalizes the franchise. Great Music movies are Ray (Ray Charles) and A Hard Day’s Night (The Beatles). Other great movies that are mentioned above are True Grit (2010), Good Morning Vietnam, and Unforgiven. I’m going to assume you’ve both seen The Hangover 😁

Robert

Jay and Amber, if you want to laugh, to wonder, to be reminded of familial bonds, have some romance, and to smile, About Time (featuring Rachel McAdams) is the choice. Otherwise, Knives Out is a great comedy/mystery. Hoosiers (basketball) and Million Dollar Baby (women’s boxing) are great sports movies, along with Seabiscuit (horse racing, but really about the people and it’s from a GREAT book too).

Robert

I just think there are so many great movies that Apollo is pretty good kind of lags and long but good. Usually if a movie is great I can rewatch over and over I’ve watched Roger rabbit once and close encounters once and not since they both came out. But we all have different taste in movies. I get bored with the dramas unless there a thriller involved with the drama like a crime to be solved. And Roger rabbit was just to silly for me.

Dawn

Can't go wrong with Minority Report. One of my favorites.

Troy

Please watch “Crimson Tide”. It’s a race against the clock movie that always keeps you on the edge of your seat. Great acting by Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman. It also stars Viggo Mortensen who plays Aragorn in LOTR.

Patty Estrada

I second Oblivion and Stargate.

Patty Estrada

Please do Minority Report.

Patty Estrada

Yes! I’ve suggested this movie before, even sent them the DVD in hopes that they’d watch it lol.

Patty Estrada

Just watched Stargate again yesterday. Gotta agree without of your picks, especially Red, and would add Red 2 to the list.

Joanie Archetto

Not a Star Wars guy, but to me all of the other 3 are must watch movies. Close Encounters is always my answer to favorite movie of all time.

John DelVecchio

Red October is one of my all time favorites.

Joanie Archetto

Crimson tide, Hunt for Red October, No Way Out, Legends of the Fall.

Wendy

Roger rabbit was ahead of its time the story is gold, the acting is superb and the blend of genres is seamless give it a chance besides don't worry, it won't win apollo 13 is and all the other choices are great especially close encounters

Karl Kraus

If you are interested in a war movie, 1917 is a must!

Kevin

Love Oblivion, Stargate and Pacific Rim. I think they would enjoy those!

Kristin D

So I figured I'd just stick to one genre this time, Action. *The Hunger Games. *Underworld. *Lethal Weapon. *Stargate. *The Mummy. *The Mask Of Zorro. *Air Force One. *Red. *Dante's Peak. *Ransom. *The Meg. *Oblivion. *Pacific Rim. *Divergent. *Into The Storm. *San Andreas. *Ready Player One

Katie Jackson

Walk the Line is a fantastic movie!! Joaquin Phoenix is a gem of an actor.

Kristin D

It is! I hope they watch it eventually. I'd really love them to do some proper sci-fi again. Maybe ask for suggestions and then a poll.

Kristin D

That Thing You Do is a great one.

Greg McDaniel

Just a few suggestions😁! Sci-fi: Bladerunner (Final Cut Version) Dune (The new one from 2021) Gattaca Minority Report Vesper Drama: Spotlight The Dig Dark Waters The Little Things Argo Comedy: Hot Fuzz (It's an action-comedy) Once Upon A Time In Hollywood The Grand Budapest Hotel American Hustle Good Morning Vietnam War: 1917 The Hurt Locker 12 Strong Inglorious Basterds Full Metal Jacket Action: Extraction The Last Duel Gladiator (Director's Cut is awesome, but so is the theatrical version) Sicario Rob Roy Mystery: Knives Out The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo (2011) Prisoners Seven (It has both Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman) Gone Girl Horror: The Witch The Invisible Man (2020) 10 Cloverfield Lane Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) The Ring (2002) Western: Unforgiven Hostiles The Revenant News of the World True Grit (2010) Fantasy: The Shape of Water Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them (Prequel to Harry Potter) Ladyhawke Dragon Slayer The Illusionist Sports: Girl Fight (Boxing) Chariots of Fire Hoosiers Any Given Sunday Cinderella Man

Troy

And Chasing Mavericks…what a great movie about surfing

Jennifer Sanchez

Good movies based on a true story: 1. Searching For Bobby Fisher 2. Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie Mercury) 3. The Rookie 4. Green Book 5. Walk The Line (Johnny Cash)

Jennifer Sanchez

It improves over the prequels

Kevin

Wow there are so many better movies. Roger rabbit really ugh.. they should watch horror they’re funny when jays scared. Lol. A horror movie like dead silence or the exorcism of Emily rose..

Dawn

Oh, this is a tough one 🤔 I like Roger Rabbit and I absolutely love Apollo 13, but Star Wars is Star Wars! Taking a moment to decide which one to vote for out of those three. Next poll/genre suggestions: Comedy: 1. That Thing You Do! 2. The Replacements 3. The Great Outdoors 4. License To Drive 5. Here Comes The Boom Action: 1. The Hunger Games (1-4) 2. Top Gun: Maverick 3. Divergent (1-3) 4. True Lies 5. Gone In 60 Seconds 6. Armageddon Drama: 1. White Water Summer 2. Toy Soldiers (91) 3. To Kill A Mockingbird 4. Air Force One 5. The Client

Jennifer Sanchez

Willow is great. I would also love them to watch Ladyhawke.

Kristin D

Don't you know what KISS stands for?..... Knights In Satans Service...... lol

MovieMagician

Hey you guys! 👋 Glad you like the poll if it's okay with the ROB SQUAD I want to say I helped out with it! I had two more in the pool but I guess the channel policy is to use only 4 at a time

Karl Kraus

I pity the fool who doesn't watch Rocky III

Jon

Yes. Dreyfuss had been acting in movies for several years before appearing in these movies. These 3 movies I mentioned made him a definite A-List actor for a few years.

Adam Wyler

Not ask early as you may think. His first role was in The Graduate.

Christopher Puttre

No you don't they are being remade in the next few years by John Favreau.

Christopher Puttre

I want to recommend Krull as well, even though it's kind of cheesy. But I don't think it would get any votes.

Brian

It wasn't right after 'Jaws' was released. 'Jaws'. 'Jaws' was released in June 1975. He was in the TV movie 'Victory At Entebbe' in 1976. 'Close Encounters' wax released on November 16, 1977 2 weeks before 'The Goodbye Girl' which was released on November 30th. He was the Academy Award for best actor for 'The Goodbye Girl'.

Adam Wyler

Rocky 3 would be great considering how much Jay liked the first two

Crystal Moore

Been Requesting Willow for a long time. I think they would love it. Val Kilmer.

Lisa Rhodes

totally agree . I don't know where they get the movie suggestions. I have never seen any of these on here suggested. I have seen them all myself but not on any list.

Lisa Rhodes

One of Richard Dreyfus’ early movies too ( I believe right after jaws).

Mary Alice

Nice poll! For me, Apollo 13!

David Crabtree

Let's do another sports movie! Poll choices: 1. The Natural (has parallels with Greek mythology!) 2. Angels in the Outfield 3. The Rookie, true story, similar premise to Rudy, perservering in following one's dream 4. The Mighty Ducks 5. Miracle, true story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey team who beat the Soviets on the way to clinching gold

Karl Kraus

Yeah shawn don't ruin the experience for them if they adored the prequels they'll enjoy the sequels just the same

Karl Kraus

Close Encounters is one of Stephen Spielberg's earlier movies. You both will really enjoy the plot line and story.

Adam Wyler

That’s subjective … anyway, it’s Star Wars … you gotta see them through even if you’re correct.

Rollo Tomassi

War movie next. Platoon!

Andrew Ramos

True, I haven't seen many reactions to it either

Andrew Ramos

Apollo 13 please. Also agree that Robin Williams “Good Morning Vietnam”. Should be considered.

Laura Niewohner

It's been a bit since you watched a fantasy movie. With that in mind, how about Willow. (The movie, not the show)

Brian

Still pushing for Legend 1985 US version. Legend of Billie jean 1985 know you will love them

MovieMagician

You’ve got to see Detroit Rock City! As much as Jay loves KISS, it’s a must see movie. It’s a comedy that takes place in the 70s. I think you’d really enjoy it.

Brian Moore

Wow what a poll!! Watch all of them at some point, but for this poll I chose Apollo 13 since it's a true story, and I love this movie. I grew up during the Apollo era and my family always watched the lift offs, and we continued that with the Space Shuttles too!

Jayce

Kenobi is awesome

MovieMagician

Found it thanks

Shawn McKenzie

Ohhh lol I thought it was a new one

Shawn McKenzie

Good Morning Vietnam is a great and moving comedy starring Robin Williams and Forest Whittaker and in my opinion is Robin’s BEST film!

Peyton Royals

All great selections. I went with Close Encounters of The Third Kind. Classic movie, well worth anyone's time.

Troy

Not worth watching, destroys everything before it

Shawn McKenzie

I’ll look again

Shawn McKenzie

I was honestly just thinking “I hope they continue the Star Wars saga!” Also, Rogue One is a GREAT Star Wars film. It takes place RIGHT before the events of A New Hope.

Peyton Royals

Recommend Force Awakens, gotta see how bad the sequels are. It’s a riot

Cameron

It’s still up on our end

Jordan Robinson

WFRR and Apollo13 are both must watches.

Amy Silknitter

Definitely time for the next three star wars (and I might add after that you should watch Rogue One)

Kevin

You take down Jurassic Park?

Shawn McKenzie

Apollo 13 - easy pick

Shawn McKenzie

Ya gotta see that SW through fam
