Liar Liar is funny but a much more sedate Jim Carrey. He's pretty off the wall as Ace Ventura. I find it funny, but I can understand that he can be "too much."

2023-05-08 14:21:46 +0000 UTCJim Carrey was all over the place in 1994. In addition to this hit, he also starred in the blockbuster adaptation of The Mask comic, and then again with Dumb and Dumber. He's a little too inspired in his comedy style by Jerry Lewis to be a favorite of mine, so a little bit of Jim Carrey goes a long way with me. But if you want pure uncut Carrey pumped up to 11, this is your movie. Got some giggles out of me. The Truman Show is an excellent and more dramatic turn for him, but sounds like Amber's seen it. But in terms of straight comedy, perhaps you should check him out in The Cable Guy, starring opposite Mathew Broaderick. Some of the older TV references might be lost on you, but still amusing. And for the record: There is only one Grinch, and it was a 22 minute short animated by the legendary Chuck Jones in 1966. All others are mere pretenders. 😉 Oh, and Carrey's hammy William Shatner impersonation reminded me that maybe you guys should stick Galaxy Quest on your list of comedies to hit.

2023-05-07 23:01:19 +0000 UTCTruman Show will be another good movie for you to watch I may not have seen it myself but I keep hearing it's a powerful film and Jim Carrey reached the pinnacle of his talent by giving one of the best dramatic performances (and few when it comes to him) You definitely deserve some relaxation after the past year you've had starting this channel up AND moving, one of the most stressful events ever so I hope you all get to talk about it throughout the time you do move See you for film Friday!

Since Amber has seen “The Truman Show” (which is a great movie, you should definitely get Jordan to watch it) I’d recommend “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind”. I’d also like to suggest “Pleasantville”(not a Jim Carrey movie) I think y’all would like it. It’s a comedy-drama, and it makes for a good in between easy to watch filler movie.
