EARLY ACESS YT EDIT TREMORS (1990) | FIRST TIME WATCHING | MOVIE REACTION

THE sequel? There's like 8

Michael J Paulus

Cult classic. The sequel is pretty good, too. We used to play this one in-store frequently when I worked at Hollywood Video in the 90s.

Jeff Mills

I just rewatched Crossroads. Ralph Machio and Joe Seneca. That's the kind of movie the Robsquad would love. 80s and blues music.

Michael J Paulus

I suggest White Water Summer. It’s a great action/drama movie with Kevin Bacon and a young Sean Astin (Sam from LOTR). Kevin Bacon has so many movies and cameos. He’s also in a music band with his brother called The Bacon Brothers!

Jennifer Sanchez

What a fun movie to watch with you two! I've seen it a few times but it's still always tense and funny. Exceptionally tight writing. The scientist woman always reminds me of Sally Field. Watch her be related or something... [P.S. Please watch Hamilton!]

Maya Bairey «SupermodelSquad»

I think the entire trio of Bill and Ted flicks are worthy of a watch. Truly a most bodacious cinematic triumph.

Did not know about Gladiator shooting in the Alabama Hills, but that's also cool. Now that you mention it, I think I can guess which shots. Probably from that sequence where Maximus is riding to his home in Spain. The landscape had a familiar look, so it makes total sense.

Robert Greffey

Alright fair enough you got my suggestions in the message forum? Not just for movies but for your music channel as well

Karl Kraus

How cool! And I don’t blame you for wearing the shirt to pieces!

Jordan Robinson

I believe that one is on the list! I’ll double check

Jordan Robinson

Just for the next poll. We had this one planned in advance and new it was supposed to be a bit of a thriller. There will be one more movie in between this and star-wars

Jordan Robinson

For its time...this was a great movie!

Alain

Gladiator actually shot at Alabama Hills too. I'd love for them to do Big Trouble in Little China!

Kevin Bacon's first movie is Animal House (1978). He plays Chip Dillard a pledge in the prestigious Omega Theta Pi fraternity. Douglas C. Neidermeyer played by actor Mark Metcalf is the main protaganist. Mark Metcalf reprised Douglas C, Neidermeyer for 2 Twisted Sister music videos: I Want to Rock and We're Not Going To Take It. Besides Kevin Bacon Animal House stars Tim Matheson (Fletch, Nationa; Lampoon's Van Wilder), John Belushi (The Blues Brothers, Continental Divide ), Tom Hulce (Amadeus, The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Stephen Furst (The Dream Team, Up the Creek), Douglas Kenny, Peter Riegert (The Mask, Oscar), Bruce McGill (My Cousin Vinny, The Runaway Jury), Karen Allen (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Starman), Donald Sutherland (Kelly's Heroes, Start The Revolution Without Me) and John Vernon (I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, Airplane II).

Reba McEntire is very nice person. I got to meet her in 1988 at the Austin County Fair. Her cousin and my mom are friends. Reba autographed a shirt for me unfortunately I wore that shirt to pieces.

Thanks for the plug! I do hope they watch Gladiator eventually. Big Trouble in Little China is a surprisingly fun movie. The title doesn't really do it justice in regards to what it's about, so I never considered it until recently. But it was very enjoyable. And the cast was great too.

Yay! This is a favorite of mine I've pitched more than once here. So regardless if I'm the one that convinced you to finally watch it or not, thanks! Did I mention my mom loves this movie? 🤔 On it's surface, perhaps not something I'd think she'd like (she hates, Jaws, for example, and this is kinda like Jaws in the desert). I think the endearing cast of colorful characters and humorous banter is what makes the difference. Despite being set in Nevada, this was actually filmed in the desert beside the Eastern Sierra Mountains in and around the town of Lone Pine, California. Some friends and I would often go there for some mountain escape weekends when I first moved to California, but it was many years before I figured out it was the location used for this film. Many exteriors, including the pole vault scene and climax with the CAT were shot in the Alabama Hills area outside Lone Pine, which was a frequently used location for westerns back in their heyday. I've actually seen a concert in Lone Ranger Canyon there (where the character was first put to film) for some fundraiser by the town's film history museum. I'm pretty sure I see those rocky boulder hills in car commercials from time to time too. It's some beautiful scenery to look at if you're not dodging graboids. This film's screenplay is wonderfully tight, with everything to make the story work being set up and nicely payed off. The squeaky freezer motor, the girl on the pogo stick, and various other things introduced well before you realize they're inviting certain death. And the entire idea of a stampede in the opening scene setting up the final solution at the end... I know film students studying screenplays love to talk about Chinatown, but this is one every bit worthy of their study as that, IMHO. Fred Ward (Earl) is a great actor taken from us far too soon. As a space nerd, I loved him as astronaut Gus Grissom in the historical drama The Right Stuff. He actually had a starring turn in an action adventure Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins. Been many years since I've seen it, but remember it fondly. Walter was veteran actor Victor Wong who's been in plenty of good stuff too, like Big Trouble in Little China. Since I got a Rob Squad movie wish fulfilled, instead of pitching a favorite of my own on my way out the door, I'll earn some good karma and plug someone else's. You guys should watch Gladiator. It's good. But don't do it for me. Do it for my buddy Kristin D.

Robert Greffey

When are you going to watch The Hitmans Bodyguard? That's got a great cast and is about as funny as it gets in a bang bang shoot 'em up movie.

Marc Fewell

Excellent!

Joanie Archetto

I love Tremors, and its an excellent part for Reba. I love Reba! For pure comedy, I would recommend Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. It stars a very young Keanu Reeves, you know, the Matrix dude!!

Jayce

You told me you wanted something funny or not that scary/centered on death or were talking about after star wars/the next poll?

Karl Kraus

I do love Kevin Bacon's character in this . I love the name Valentine. There are little towns like that in Arizona. I still say Mother Humper . Loved how you slipped in how Kevin Bacon would taste like Bacon when he stopped in the field. Amber I caught it very good pun.
