Deb Ralston

Check out Gunpowder Milkshake!!

Veronica Daye West

They did The Karate Kid and A Few Good Men. What happened to Pulp Fiction?

Al Batista

If it's possible I'd love to see you react to "Good Morning Vietnam". It's a Robin Williams movie. It's funny/sad. The man was a genius.

Krystal Doyle

Jay and Amber, when are you closing the poll? I know it's a holiday but just wondering. Have a fun and safe 4th.

Karen Silvera

I watched it a couple of weeks ago because of the poll. Such a masterpiece and it was their first attempt! And they were kids! So I'm right with you on this one.

Karen Silvera

I'm going to have to up my tier just to watch the full Pulp Fiction reaction. I don't want to miss 1 second of that reaction. :)

Al Batista

Just watched “Good Will Hunting” again and this one needs to be on your list. Not only did it launch the careers of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, but it earned Robin Williams the Oscar. Great movie

Shawn McKenzie

Schindler's List didn't poll well, I guess people don't wanna cry lol

yaboi7654

Not sure if y'all read these but I just joined today:) i humbly request request you consider The Hobbit trilogy! Either way I'll be watching

yaboi7654

I voted for Good Will Hunting. Hopefully they will watch one day. I think they’d like it.

Stephanie Wahl

I don’t think you’re going to like Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs is a much better movie imho and much more of an accessible entry into Tarantino. I hope you’ll will watch Schindler’s List. Yes it’s very sad but it’s also based on a true story. Everyone should watch that movie.

Stephanie Wahl

I am stoked it is still in the top 3 as I think they both will like it. It might startle them a bit, but I do think they will both love it!

Troy

So glad it's in the top 3!!! Give the people what they want!!!

Al Batista

Well said. Personally, Tarantino is one of my favorite directors, but he's not for everyone. The fact is, Pulp Fiction is an important movie and part of the American lexicon. It's one of those things you have to know. It's referenced so many times and in so many places, like A Christmas Carol or Jaws. They may not like it, but like necessary reading in school, it's something everyone should be familiar with.

Al Batista

Pulp got my vote too. Love the other family-friendly movies that are usually reacted to on this channel, but there's another side of cinema, a wonderful side, that's being largely ignored.

Al Batista

Absolutely!!!

Al Batista

Watching you guys go through the entire MCU catalog would be epic!

Al Batista

Yes! Good Will Hunting is what the people want (even if it unfortunately didn`t make the top 3 list as I personally think it should have done).

Endre Snildal

I have other options Kill Bill Vol 1 &2 and Urban Cowboy (Since you all reacted to Cherokee Fiddle).

Kristi Green

Thank goodness no Schindler's List

J-Rob

I hope they are too but I can't watch them watch it. I'll want to hug them.

Karen Silvera

A truly pomp fest of a movie but so dang funny! My husband uses a line in it at Buffets.... 'second dive!' It's one of those movies that has added to the tapestry of nearly 40 years together.

Karen Silvera

Major Payne is a good one

Shi War

Also, From Dusk Til Dawn

Shi War

Oof! If Pulp Fiction wins I hope they’re ready for it. It’s going to be a tough one for them.

Liz Zero

Yup. One of the most overblown 80s movies there is.

J-Rob

After warching your Overboard reaction, I am now hoping you'll watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I think you'll get a kick out of that one!

Ronda Borgen

I just logged into Patreon to suggest Highlander. There can be only one. There is only one, I will fight anyone who says otherwise. 😉

Michael J Paulus

Ugh KK 😒😆

Kathy Carter

There can be only one!! And speaking of Queen's music, there's also Flash Gordon. Retro-futurism movie from the 1980s.

Kristin D

I think they would find Outsiders interesting. A bit heavy, but a really good story, and an all-star cast. I don't think American History X is a good watch for them. That is a brutal movie. After seeing it once, I regretted it and will never watch it again. It's not that there aren't poignant insights in the movie, there are. Acting is great, story is good. But just...no....it's really not a movie for everyone, and I really don't think J&A would enjoy it a all. Like Schindler's list. If they want to see it, they should do it in private.

Kristin D

Good point! I'd forgotten about the Tulsa connection. I did think about Jay and Amber being teachers. The book is a favorite for teaching and students are intrigued that it was written by a teenager after failing a creative writing high school class.

Shirley Durr

Highlander as well. THe soundtrack is done by Queen as well. Great music there.

Mark Koppa

The Outsiders is also about Tulsa, OK I believe that is where Jay has said he's from. It was filmed in Tulsa as well. The house the kids lived in is a technical landmark now in Tulsa.

Mark Koppa

Has Jay seen the movie "The Outsiders" or know about it's existence? The book was about being from Tulsa, OK. The movie was filmed there as well. Another movie that I would add to a future list that can be hard to watch but is really good is "American History X"

Mark Koppa

Agree with your post movie reactions about how Dances with Wolves shows how we as humans can do better with communication and understanding instead of violence. Another true to life inspiring movie is Gandhi with Ben Kingsley. The characters are so well played, it is easy to be drawn into the story. Thanks for reading.

Shelley savoy

I see Pulp Fiction is number two in the voting now. Please know that if you can't finish the movie there are those among us who understand. Yeah, it's good for what it is and it's so different as far as the creativity of it. But it is not "entertaining". I have always watched movies to escape the ugly side of reality and Pulp Fiction not only depicts it, but seems to celebrate just how many ways man can be evil to one another.

G Faith Owens EA

Rain Man is one I'd like to see on the list. Tom Cruise & Dustan Hoffman's performance was the best of their careers. The dialog in the phone box was unscripted & adlibbed by both actors making it one of the funniest scenes in the movie.

Sean colenso

Yeah as soon as I seen pulp fiction on the list I was hoping it wouldn’t win. I don’t think they’ll enjoy it. I love Tarantino films but I don’t think it’s gonna be their cup of tea and that’s ok.

Kim G.

To compare Saturday night Fever to a Tarantino movie is like comparing a Disney movie to a Romero movie( Zombie movie). Completely different . I think the first few minutes they will shut if off.

Lisa Rhodes

You could well be right. But by the same token, I respect an honest reaction over one that's positive for positivity's sake. So if they don't like it, I wouldn't mind hearing so and why. Probably why I liked their Saturday Night Fever reaction more than the actual movie. Awesome soundtrack. Grim and depressing movie, as I've long thought myself. It's a popular and beloved classic, so I don't fault them for watching it. But came away with more love and respect for Amber and Jay for being turned off to it for reasons problematic for me as well. I have little love for Tarantino, so they can criticize at will, as far as I'm concerned. 😀

Robert Greffey

My vote is for Schindler’s List. It is a masterpiece directed by the master himself - Spielberg. I know that it is a hard movie to watch but it is a movie that everyone needs to watch at least once in their lifetime. As much turmoil there is in this world we have to remind ourselves that we must not let anything like this happen ever again! I know this will not win for this months viewing but I sure would like it to be something that you do watch and react to in the near future.

Patty Krause-Davis

I am not a Tarantino fan, so it's been a couple of decades since I watched Pulp Fiction from start to finish. My employer picked up a distribution deal with Miramax, so I have watched significant portions of it more recently for my job. So not all my memories are distant ones, and some rather fresh. But not the same as a full watch and it's easy to miss stuff that way. So maybe I'm missing something here. Anyway, for all the fuss about the content that some have made, I just don't recall it being significantly more shocking or morally offensive than other films with seedy criminals as central characters. I've seen far more grotesque and glorified violence, and right here on this channel. And the noted sexual assault may be more graphic than, say, The Shawshank Redemption, but nowhere near as uncomfortably long and stomach churning an affair as Deliverance. And none of those come close to some of the graphic sexual assaults I've seen depicted of women. That's not to invalidate anyone's opinion, as we all have our own tastes and limits. Do all you want to people, but animal cruelty in a film triggers me hard, for example. But for my part, I was probably more shocked by the frequent use the "the n-word" in a film from the mid 90's than any violence, drug use, or rape. And like most of the other things on that list, I think the shock value was mostly the point of it, so I dismissed it as merely that. Anyway, for all the speculation that Amber and Jay may not like the film, I'm not so quick to make that call. It's a popular film, and turned Tarantino into a household name. There is something to it, and I don't think it's out of the question to think it might hook them in too. No way of knowing until they actually watch it.

Robert Greffey

Right? The trilogy is one of my favorites!

Kristen DePizzo

that is absolutely true I truly feel they will find it very offensive by what they have reacted to before.

Lisa Rhodes

Definitely one of the best Marvel movies, in my opinion! I love it and how can you not sing along to all the great songs in this movie.

Jennifer Sanchez

Yes! I can’t wait for them to get around to this movie. It’s fun and such a great soundtrack. They will absolutely love this!

Jennifer Sanchez

Great suggestions! I agree, Jay and Amber would love both of these movies.

Jennifer Sanchez

I probably like The Wizard of Oz better on the whole, but when forced to choose between the two horses still in this race I've been backing from round 1, I likewise went for Karate Kid on the assumption it'd be something they'd more easily get into.

Robert Greffey

I’m not sure if you guys are into the Marvel universe, but I heard you mention watching Guardians of the Galaxy, and I’d love to see you react to it. The Guardians films incorporate so much of the music that you love. The soundtrack is excellent.

Kristen DePizzo

Nice list, but you keep forgetting to include the excessive and casual use of racial slurs along with the rape and drugs and stuff. 🙁

Robert Greffey

Dang, didn't realize we had another round of voting. Tough to pick just one. But being spoiled for good choices is a good place to be.

Robert Greffey

All excellent choices for various reasons. I hope that you can eventually get to all of them!

Joanie Archetto

Not quietly, you should scream that. No? Don’t worry, I got you… “J & A, PLEASE DO HAMILTON!!”

Amy Silknitter

It would be awesome if they added in Good Will Hunting even if it's not in the top 3. It's a great movie, and I agree that it is one of Williams's best. If they do watch Good Will Hunting, I'd love for them to also watch Mrs. Doubtfire, and then also Bicentennial Man.

Kristin D

Wasn't enough action for you?

Marie247Art

Voting for Schindler to boost its number but hoping to see Karate and/or Wizard among the top 3. Schindler was Spielberg's sort of gift to his father and earned him an Oscar -- finally! As a teacher, I've shown in to my high school English classes. Karate is a cultural touchpoint and one of the best movies Ralph Macchio has done -- The Outsiders being even better. (Put that one on your list; the cast is outstanding and you'll recognize a few -- Patrick Swayze and Tom Cruise for sure.) Then you can see how the Karate remake pays homage to the original while telling a different story. Karate has teaching moments as well. And if you see Wizard of Oz, I encourage you to see The Wiz soon afterwards. Diana Ross is the only sour note for me but the rest of the cast (including MJ) is awesome. It shows how the themes of the original book are timeless and universal. Although I know a lot about them and have seen endless clips, I've never seen A Few Good Men nor Pulp Fiction. And I have no desire to see them. So I won't be watching those reactions. (I watch only reactions to movies I've seen.)

Shirley Durr

Yes, Playtone or whatever it is, is Tom and Rita's production company.

Amy Silknitter

it's probably going to be Pulp Fiction, Karate Kid and A Few Good Men with this poll, but Good WIll Hunting is absolutely worth the watch. I don't know how much a single comment could convince you to add a movie to your watchlist even if it didn't win, but I urge you to add that one. Robin Williams at, what I feel is his best (along with What Dreams May Come), in a movie written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck that catapulted both their careers? Come on. You've got to do it, win or not. I'm people, and this is what I want. :)

Amy Silknitter

I wholeheartedly agree. Let’s see the One-ders. Lol

Michael and Phyllis Selby

Also My big fat Greek wedding (I believe Tom Hanks wife was part of the producing team for that movie)

Mary Alice

actually the perfect 4th of july movie is Independence Day, which is weird since both movies were directed by the same man, Roland Emmerich

Karl Kraus

You will LOVE That Thing You Do with Tom Hanks.

Greg McDaniel

for upcoming movie recommendations, a couple I'd like to put out there (which are also personal favorites that would make for great reactions): 1)Armageddon, which is coming up on its 25th anniversary on July 1, and was also the #1 film at the worldwide box office for 1998, and 2) The Patriot from 2000, probably my favorite Mel Gibson film, and the perfect movie for the 4th of July holiday!

David Crabtree

I hope “Seabiscuit” with Jeff Bridges 2003’ makes one of your polls. It’s a sports movie (horse racing), based on a true story set in the depression era. Very emotional heart warming movie nominated for several academy awards, you guys will LOVE it!!

John

I have a very strong no on Pulp Fiction. Violent rape, drugs, sodomy, from what your recent reactions have been this is definitely not the movie for you to watch . Watch it together alone but don't do a reaction to it .Because I know your will not like it. I have seen it before several times but the way you guys have reacted to other movies this one and the Exorcist are two I wouldn't recommend for you to watch.

Lisa Rhodes

The teachers connection is another reason why they'll enjoy Schindlers List, even though it'll be an admittedly heavy watch

Karl Kraus

My vote goes to Good Will Hunting and trust The Karate Kid will make the Top 3 as well. Hoping for A Few Good Men as the third one. I personally think Schindler`s List is the best movie here, but it is not important for me to actually see their reaction for it. Pulp Fiction is actually my favorite movie of these choices, but that`s just my personal taste of movies. That`s not what I`m voting for. I truly believe Pulp Fiction is a movie Jay and Amber won`t like, so why myself and other Tarantino fans would want them to react to this one so much is strange to me. I do however get why many want especially Jay to react to for example Hitchcock`s The Birds one day. I would prefer to recommend Hitchcock`s Rear Window the most, but even I is very curious about the Birds reaction. So I kind of get that one. So I almost feel all this love for Pulp Fiction is maybe similar for voters here. Maybe someone love it so much that they assume Jay and Amber have to love it too, but I got a feeling some vote for it simply because they are so curious to see their reaction to this type of movie that this is more important than recommend a movie for them we honestly believe they will like. Anyways, just my thoughts on the matter. I guess Pulp Fiction will end up top 3, so we will see. Maybe even Schindler`s list does it too, but I keep on hoping there will be enough love for Good Will Hunting here. Remember, Jay and Amber are even some teachers. They will love this movie.

Endre Snildal

(Quietly..... "Hamilton please")

Maya Bairey «SupermodelSquad»

Good Will Hunting amazing movie written by Damon/Affleck while in college and perfect performance by Robin Williams.

John DelVecchio

Schindler won't win this time I think I voted for it but I'll root for a few good men, good will hunting and karate kid You still need to watch it though

Karl Kraus

Yeah, not sure about Pulp Fiction…I like it but it might be too much for some. The list actually had some great choices but everyone needs to experience the greatness of Mr Miagi 😁

Jennifer Sanchez

If you watch Schindler’s List make sure to use toothpicks to prop open your eyes. 😴

Rollo Tomassi

All great options! Love the selections. I voted for Pulp Fiction.

Troy

I agree! I went with Pulp as well.

Troy

Exactly what I thought as well! I almost voted for Pulp Fiction but I think they'll like Karate Kid more

Tracy Geier

A Few Good Men, please 🙏🏾

JL Green

Great options but still pulling for Pulp! Need to get the Tarantino ball rolling.

Kevin

Definitely Mrs Doubtfire for me, all good movies though.

Riley Stone

Good Will Hunting is such a great movie but I had to go with Karate Kid ❤️

Jennifer Sanchez

😆

Kathy Carter

OMGeeee!!! Slim pickings

Kathy Carter

We gotta get Wizard out of the way
