Someone may have already mentioned this but Bernadette Peters (Marie) is mainly a stage star (broadway) etc., so she does sing, but she's also a classically trained trumpet player. and was dating Steve Martin during the time of this film. Also not sure if you caught it, but the cat jugler was played by Steve Martin. When he was a teen he worked at Disneyland where he learned magic and juggling.. The writing for this is comedic genius. Also check out Three Amigos also co written by Martin. The end when they built a bigger house, it's just taller.. hilarious..
