Yes, please watch the 2nd movie! It also has that song you reacted to 'Glory of Love' by Peter Cetera, formerly of Chicago! I have loved them since the '80s! My favorite album is Chicago 17, but my favorite song isn't even on it... If You Leave Me Now! I've seen your reaction and yes, that was Peter Cetera. Chicago 17 was also Peter Cetera! I think you weren't hearing "the horns" as much because it was an orchestra. The horns in this song are french horns with the violins and cellos! Thanks for the great reaction! Love you guys!!!

Cobra Kai is a fun show. Wouldn't be a hit if it wasn't. Johnny is great in it and a lot of the cameo's by past Karate Kid stars is fun to see.

2023-07-25 00:38:37 +0000 UTCGreat movie from my childhood. Sensei Miyagi’s backstory in this movie is amazing and sad. It is expanded on in the second movie. In 1942 the US government really did move more than 10,000 men, women, and children to Manzanar, California. The camp was one of ten where Japanese American citizens and immigrants were "relocated" during the war (more than 120,000 people were interned, including a very young George Takei). The argument at the time was that anyone with Japanese ancestry was untrustworthy and a security risk requiring them to be removed from the general population, stripping them of their rights as citizens, their property, their business, their bank accounts, their pride, their dignity… This is where Miyagi's wife and child died; having been ripped from their homes and lives and taken to an internment camp in the middle of nowhere because of her ethnicity. This is juxtaposed beautifully by the medal that Danielson holds at 1:32:20. It is the Army version of the Congressional Medal of Honor. The MoH is the highest award for military valor in action. It is presented to the member of the military by the president of the United States to those who “distinguish themselves conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of their life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States”. Until very recently, it was a medal that almost required to be awarded posthumously due to the heroics required. So, while Mr. Miyagi was heroically fighting in Italy, Southern France, and Germany for his country, his wife and child died because there were no doctors at the camp, that same country sent them to, to save them.

2023-07-17 05:27:42 +0000 UTCI love this movie! I was wondering when you guys would get around to watching it. When I was a kid, my dad loved to watch the tv show MASH, and Pat Morita guest starred in it. It blew me away to hear him with no accent whatsoever

2023-07-12 03:58:38 +0000 UTCI'll always remember Pat "Miyagi" Morita as Arnold, the restaurant owner, on the TV show Happy Days. He actually didn't know very much Japanese when making this movie, nor did he have an accent. RIP Mr. Miyagi

2023-07-12 03:01:32 +0000 UTCI know y’all really don’t like Johnny (because you’re not meant to), but as Mr. Miyagi says, “No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher”. Cobra Kai really fleshes Johnny out and gives him a real story. I think y’all would really enjoy it, but only after you’ve watched parts 2 and 3.

2023-07-12 02:09:50 +0000 UTCIt’s hard to find movies today with as much heart as movies from the 80s. They were just awesome.
