New Poll Suggestions

Leave any and all movie suggestions down below!

We had a lot of fun with the polls last month! So we wanted to start again with the larger poll and have you guys vote a few times to narrow them down. Like last time we will watch the top 3 films.

If you like the format of the smaller polls better feel free to voice your opinion down below. We still plan to do a combination of both here.

Thanks in advance! We can’t wait to see what you guys have in store for us!

??Lil_Ladee??

Brand new member, here. Just watched your reaction to Tombstone. How about a poll for some classic John Wayne movies? Bet you haven't seen any of those. I think you'd get a TON of suggestions (especially from your older viewers--and there are a lot of us!)

Rose

Hi, Jay and Amber! I am a new member and I was thinking of an idea. I think you guys may like. Amber may like it more than Jay but because they’re action movies, Jay can get into it, as well. What about Bad Girls or ladies of action: kill Bill volumes, one, and two with Uma Thurman, The long kiss good night with Gina Davis, aliens, one and aliens, two with Sigourney Weaver, the terminator series with Linda Hamilton… And for bad girls: fatal attraction with Glenn Close and working girl with Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith…. That’s a start. What do you think?

Chris Thomas

Since, you've already listened to "On the Dark Side" by John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band. I would like to suggest the movies "Eddie and the Cruser's" or "Streets of Fire". Both are written, directed, and staring the same guy. Both are amazing and filled with great music.

Jason Vulgamore

Labrynth- Fantasy/music- David Bowie!

Mairn

Now Jay and Amber, if you really want to go into the past you should watch Legend... Tom Cruise's first movie and also a Fantasy movie at that! Here is a trailer for you to look at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H210lEsVrvI&ab_channel=GrindhouseMovieTrailers Please Enjoy!

what dreams may come - excellent

Lisa Rhodes

Rain Man, The Graduate, Mad Mad World, Young Frankenstein, all these are fantastic movies . It is sad because they will get lost because most won't know what these movies are . Icon actors that are compared to now a days actors . These movies are legendary compared to the movies now a days seriously.

Lisa Rhodes

I know you guys liked Tombstone, so I’d suggest Young Guns 1 and 2. Cinderella Man is a sports film and a true story. And the Lethal Weapon action series has four movies.

Oh and you've also said Rogue One sounds cool and interesting I hope you get to that one as well, preferably right after you're done with the main saga By the way, you also never responded to my message on the last jedi that you wanted to have answers for

Karl Kraus

Yes we were waiting on our starwars Vlog to be ready to finish the next starwars but it’s taking longer than expected so we may just have to go ahead and watch it. We are so ready to see how this all ends

IT'S BEEN ALMOST A WEEK AND THE MUMMY RETURNS FULL LENGTH IS STILL BROKEN. THE VIDEO CUTS OFF AFTER 2O MIN. Like if it's being worked on or if it's not something that can be fixed I get it, but to ignore everyone who's mentioned it is not cool. Can y'all please respond?

The Cutting Edge

Shutter Crazy

Another film that is really good is one called "The ghost and the darkness" starring Val Kilmer and Micheal Douglas. It's based on a true story as well about the lions of Tsavo in Africa. This one is one of my all time favorites and shows you a feeling of sometimes your not on top of the food chain.

KotaMane

If you want to watch a great film about heroes and doing the right thing. "Tears of the sun" is a good one. Bruce Willis is the lead actor who plays as a navy seal trying to save a doctor in Africa with his squad. This a tear jerker and and action packed film.

KotaMane

I just watched a movie I knew nothing about. I chose it only because of the cast. Silver Linings Playbook, from 2012, starring Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Stiles, and Chris Tucker. This was a great movie!! And the movie JLaw won her Oscar for. I figured she won it for The Hunger Games.

Jayce

I had to come back after The Outsiders! For a classic movie starring the original bad boy how about Rebel Without a Cause starring James Dean

Elizabeth Franco

Ladyhawke, they'll love this!

Truman Show Rain Man Tootsie The Maltese Falcon Mr Deeds Goes to Town Rear Window The Competition

If you are still taking suggestions: Bicentennial man. Robin William, wonderful and thoughtful movie.

I forgot about Signs - directed by the same guy who did The Sixth Sense. Inspiring, a bit funny and a little spooky.

Donna Bertolotti

Just thought of another one that, IMHO, is one of the funniest that I can remember seeing in like 20 years: St. Vincent Bill Murray at his degenerate best, Naomi Watts as a pregnant Russian prostitute, the kid from Sixth Sense as (unwilling)Murray's charge and Melissa McCarthy as the boys flustered mom.

Jeff May

I'll join in with ten of my favorites no particular order. I know there is no way you will be able to get to everything on this list and there are so many excellent already named that I'm happy with whatever you pick. Mask (1985) stars Cher Jewel of the Nile (1985) in case you want to revisit Action Romance Firestarter (1984) Tiny Drew Barrymore and written by Stephen King. Ladyhawk (1985) I seem to only be thinking of 80s movies now. Hachi: A Dogs Tale (2009) Based on a true story. Blast from the Past (1999) Brendan Frasier for Amber... and me too!! 50 First Dates (2004) Drew Barymore and Adam Sandler Hoosiers (1986) Sports movie for Jay The Color Purple (1985) A Classic directed by Steven Spielberg. Poolhall Junkies (2002) A good independent film not many people have heard of.

G Faith Owens EA

Here’s a few from different catagories: The Godfather 1 & 2, Goodfellas, Casino, original 1960 version of Ocean’s Eleven (Rat Pack robs Vegas casinos) classic mob films. A Hard Days Night and Help two Beatles classics “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” this 1967 classic with Sidney Poitier, Katherine Hepburn and Spenser Tracy deals with the then taboo subject of interracial marriage. Incredible acting and fascinating to see how far we’ve come in 50+ years and often how sadly far we have to go. More Hitchcock like The Birds, Rear Window, Vertigo, Strangers on a Train. Comedies like Tootsie, the original Arthur, What’s Up Doc (Barbra Streisand hilarious screwball comedy)Animal House(John Belushi),Nine to Five (Dolly Parton), Mrs.Doubtfire (Robin Williams, Sally Field). Some but not all of the James Bond franchise “Goldfinger” “From Russia With Love” “The Spy Who Loved Me” “For Your Eyes Only” View to a Kill” Jack Nicholson classics One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Chinatown, As Good as it Gets.

Geoff Thomas

Butterflies Are Free (1972), starring Goldie Hawn, whom you enjoyed so much in Overboard. You would also have a great time with Goldie Hawn in the hilarious Private Benjamin (1980), or Housesitter (1992) with Steve Martin. Or anything she has ever done, really. She’s got decades of great films. Easy Rider (1969), great iconic hippie movie, and what a soundtrack. Includes a young Jack Nicholson (The Shining). Dog Day Afternoon (1975), starring Al Pacino in a deservedly acclaimed film about a true story of a 1972 bank robbery with hostages. Riveting.

Barb Just Barb

Hey dinek...they did Shawshank. You can find it early on the channel.

G Faith Owens EA

I will go ahead and throw the ELVIS 2022 movie out here. August 16th will be the 46th anniversary of his death. That would be a good time to watch it, however with all the music in it, it may have to be a Patreon only follow along reaction but it is certainly not a movie you want to miss.

Alice Coulter

Alice Coulter

Excellent idea!!!

Alice Coulter

Band of Brothers . Another Spielberg and Hanks direction. Considered one of the best mini series ever made. You won't be disappointed.

Jack Ray

Do the Marvel movies! Start with Iron Man.

Al Batista

A great movie nobody remembers or talks about is a clever suspense movie called "Nick of Time". A 1995 thriller starring Johnny Depp. Speaking of which, add "Pirates of the Carribean" to your list. (Action comedy)

Chuck

You still have a whole other Lord of the Ring Trilogy called The Hobbit , origin story on how he found the ring and met Gandalf

The Dude

Try making the polls about genre. Voting between a romcom, a scary movie, a drama, or an action flick doesn't seem fair to any of the movies. Have several polls. one for each genre. Then watch the winners in each.

Chuck

Streets of Fire... a bunch of songs written by the guy who wrote all of Meatloaf's songs.

Chuck

Superhero: Batman Begins

Chuck

Alternate reality: The Mask, Streets of Fire (you'll love SoF soundtrack)

Chuck

Drama: On the Waterfront

Chuck

Scifi: The 5th Element

Chuck

Comedy: Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, (any Mel Brooks movie)

Chuck

For a rom com, watch She's out of.my League...so funny

Mark

Suspense/action: First Blood, (followed by the next 4 in the series)

Chuck

Scary: Alien, Aliens (in order)

Chuck

Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. (My favorite Hitchcock film) and another good "soundtrack" movie I love is Urban Cowboy! (Travolta and Debra Winger) I'm partial though, I used to work for and was friends with Mickey Gilley and the movie is about his club in Texas. Great country music and dancing.

Alice Coulter

Good soundtrack movies for you to consider: Eddie & The Cruisers (John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band), The Rose (Bette Midler), Rock Star (Steel Dragon & more)

Alice Coulter

My #1 for the two of you would be "That Thing You Do!" Tom Hanks wrote, directed, produced and starred in this great feel good movie about a fictional band called the Wonders, from the 60s.

Alice Coulter

Number 5 is alive!

Casey Salley

:D I figured, why not go with the G's this time? I'm not sure Gattaca would poll well either, but I only because most people haven't seen it. It's a great futuristic movie, one that I could see happening in our own world if we aren't too careful. I think that if they watched it, other folks here would then be intrigued and go watch it themselves.

Kristin D

Raising Arizona is a must see. I hope they watch it sometime.

Kristin D

Oh I forgot the rest of the Die Hard movies,Big Fish and The Doors

Elizabeth Franco

"The Sound of My Voice" is just awesome! It was also on my list.

Noting that most of my suggestions are not blockbusting well-known movies ... but I think you'll like them. LIGHTER FARE (You asked for less stressful, lighter storylines in your last video. ) If you haven't seen them already, go for animated movies that you and your kids might like such as: • Soul • Monsters Inc • The Incredibles • Inside/Out If you want more drama, try these musicals: • Joyful Noise (with Queen Latifa and Dolly Parton) • Dreamgirls (with Jennifer Hudson and the an outstanding performance by Eddie Murphy) • Sparkle (the original with Irene Cara and not the remake) • August Rush • Ray (starring Jamie Fox) Of course, romcoms: • Corrina, Corrina • Love Actually • Music and Lyrics • Pride and Prejudice (the one with Kiera Knightly) Sports related: • Bend it Like Beckham (soccer) • Chariots of Fire (track) • Whip It (roller derby) • McFarland (track) NOT SO LIGHT MOVIES Action filled entertainment – fun rides but not so stress-free: • In Time • The A-Team • Transformers • X-men (the first in a series; do them in order of release) • Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them (trilogy in the wizarding world of Harry Potter but pre-Harry Potter and not his story) Based on true stories/true events (not all happy endings): • Hidden Figures • Belle • Glory • Schindler's List • Loving • Marshall (starring Chadwick Boseman as Thurgood Marshall) • 41 (Chadwick as Jackie Robinson) • Get on Up (Chadwick as James Brown) • Till (with Whoopi Goldberg) • Just Mercy

I agree on the Halloween poll, they haven't gotten into horror . Halloween slasher was the only one . I would love them to watch Little Giants been suggesting it for along time. I think they both would love it .

Here’s some suggestions just to shake up the list by era. Classic movies: The Thin Man Arsenic and old Lace African Queen Long Hot Summer The Sting Jeremiah Johnson (a western for y’all) In the Heat of the Night Later 20th century films: Crimson Tide The Siege Hook Wet Hot American Summer Raising Arizona Leon: The Professional Miller’s Crossing Jackie Brown A River Runs Through It My Neighbor Totoro 21st Century: The Reader Parasite Let the Right One In Finding Neverland August:Osage County (Oklahoma story) Death to Smoochy

Maybe we can get a music documentary one of these days. “The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart” “Janis Joplin: Little Girl Blue” “Amy” “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice”

Patty Estrada

Yes, this one! One of the most underrated movies of its time

Julia

Loving the “Twilight” suggestion. They’re my favorite worst movies. I don’t know if Jordan would like them, but he might surprise us.

Patty Estrada

These polls are great. But might I also suggest having polls by categories. For example: by genre, by actor, by director, academy award winners…etc.

Patty Estrada

Great suggestions. “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind” “The Truman Show” “Little Miss Sunshine” “The Usual Suspects” and “Minority Report”’we’re all suggestions of mine as well.

Patty Estrada

Legends of the fall

Patty Estrada

Big Fish

Patty Estrada

I want to see you guys watch Hereditary or Midsommar!!!

Enraged Kage

Great Suggestions! I’d really like to see them react to “Interstellar” “All About Eve” and “Sunset Boulevard”

Patty Estrada

“Now and Then”…but all are good suggestions.

Patty Estrada

I think Amber would really like the “Pleasantville”. And “The DaVinci Code” is also good.

Patty Estrada

I suggested “Goodfellas” as well. One of my favorite movies.

Patty Estrada

“Edge of Tomorrow” and “Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind” I suggest as well.

Patty Estrada

Yes!!! I second Crimson Tide

Patty Estrada

Vote for Detroit Rock City and 12 Monkeys

Patty Estrada

Hitting the "G" portion of you wish list, I see. All good stuff, though. I almost put Gattaca forward myself, but figured it would probably not poll as well.

Robert Greffey

It appears you did Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes "Up Where We Belong" on the music channel. The song's okay, but the movie it comes from is better, so maybe "An Officer and a Gentleman". Highly underrated, IMHO.

Robert Greffey

I’d like to see them react to the “Star Trek” movies too…the J.J Abram ones.

Patty Estrada

I will make one suggestion for each decade this time. Hope that simplifies things. Too many choices is just too confusing. Not necessarily my first choice but movies that are good choices for many reasons. 1940's Citizen Kane (1941) 1950's: To Catch a Thief (1955) 1960's: Charade (1963) 1970's: The Godfather (1970) 1980's: The Big Chill (1983) 1990's: Goodfellas (1990) 2000's: Thirteen Days (2000)

Carolyn Phelan

Oh hell yeah to “Bloodsport“ and “Kickboxer” Let’s get some Van Damme on the channel.

Patty Estrada

I think at least Jay may have seen The Replacements, if I recall. Could be wrong...

Robert Greffey

Whale Rider would definitely get MY vote if it ever showed up on a poll.

Robert Greffey

Yes to Minority Report…you forgot to add it on the last poll.

Patty Estrada

Ford vs Ferrari and Spotlight are good suggestions.

Patty Estrada

Another vote for Clueless and Now and Then

Dead Poets is a must. Especially since they’re both educators. The Doors just because it’s so fun & overlaps with their music channel. Plus they loved Val Kilmer in Tombstone.

Stephanie Wahl

Both movies that they really have to watch. Top tier.

1). I would throw in ,,Hatari" from 1962 with the great John Wayne, one of my favorite movies. It has adventure and love, so something that you both like i hope. 2). My favorite of all time ,,Ivanhoe" from 1952 with Robert Taylor and Elizabeth(Liz) Taylor. It's a great movie about the time of Richard Lionheard and the Knights and Maidens. 3). When do we get the finale of Star Wars with episode IX? And do you consider watching movies through the timelines like Rogue One and Solo? And if you ever consider watching series i recommend The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and at the end of august theres a new Show with Ahsoka.

I said it once before on another poll, but I'll happily suggest it again: Dune (2021) would be fantastic for you guys to watch. It is an amazing sci-fi epic based on a books series that served as a massive inspiration for Star Wars! Incredible acting, fantastic effects and a very intelligent story set in the far far future. Also, Part 2 is coming out in November and would be a great follow up episode!

Do a Halloween season poll, along with individually chosen flicks; not just movies with Halloween in the plot but spooky in general One I recommend to add to it is Signs, starring Mel Gibson Also, have some more sports movies thrown in as well there are a lot of them left out there that BOTH of you will love My choices here are the Rookie, the Natural, Hoosiers, Miracle, Jerry Maguire, Moneyball, Coach Carter (Samuel L. Jackson), Major League, Snow Dogs, Little Giants (watch this one to celebrate the return of football), Eight Men Out (detailing how the 1919 White Sox allegedly threw the World Series) and I could go on but this is plenty for now There are TONS out there for multiple polls but these are ones I know you'll enjoy

Karl Kraus

“The Descendants” (2011 /George Clooney/Comedy-Drama) I lost my wife to cancer a while back. In addition to the feelings of absolute crippling heart sickness and mental devastation there was lots of chaos, disorganization, and picking up the pieces that has ensued since. It’s all part of the slow healing process I suppose. This movie always makes me feel just a bit better … at peace I guess. I see my own situation in it and when I watch it I feel just a bit illuminated by the light at the end of the darkest tunnel we can travel through … a tunnel I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I see my former life in you folks, too. Salt of the earth people with strong family connections experiencing all the up’s and down’s that come along with that … but we wouldn’t have it any other way, would we? In the aftermath of my loss, and in an attempt to battle back against the loneliness that I felt, I found you folks. The movies I used to watch with her I now watch with you … it’s different … but also the same in a lot of ways. It would be my honor and a pleasure beyond words to watch this with you and the rest of the squad.

Rollo Tomassi

Knives Out (for a who-done-it, can you guess?) and for an action show, Bullet Train. A good Tarentino film would be Jackie Brown or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And for a rom-com, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
