Becky vs Bugs Page 2

Becky enters the house and already things are off to a bad start as the moths, which are more aggressive than she anticipated, eat through the straps of her pesticide tank backpack thing. She assures the audience, however, that she is in no danger of losing anything else because her clothes have been treated with moth proof spray which renders clothing unappetizing to even the most genetically engineered of genetically engineered moths. It appears, however, that there may be some bad news for her in that area as well.

Meanwhile Jacqueline is happily showing her around her lovely home, she may not get a lot of visitors, so this could be good for her no matter how it turns out.

Not too much to say about this page, artwise. I used a picture of Wilma Deering as a reference for the second panel, I didn't mean there to be any likeness, but it seems like a little bit survived the drawing process and there's an echo of the 25th Century colonel's entrancing features in the final panel.

I also had planned to make sure there was nudity right from page one of this story by having Jacqueline's clothes already mostly destroyed from Jump Street. This little plan backfired when I decided to have her facing away from the viewer here when most of the devastation is in the front. Oopsie doopsie. I've included a marker sketch of a woman waiting in Rug Shark corporate headquarters to alleviate this problem.

i wonder if these moths eat boots...

Thinking of it that way does take some of the sting away from the disappointment πŸ™‚

On the other hand, maybe it lives so long in the memory precisely because of what could only be suggested?

Is it ever?

Thanks! I worked from a reference on that one

The offthink episode is a core memory πŸ˜„ Why, oh why couldn't we have had European TV rules back then?

I anticipated this request as soon as I decided to draw Jacqueline with an updo. I am pleased to report that yes: the hair's coming down! πŸ˜„

I'll be honest, this isn't going to be the best day to be Becky πŸ˜…

I love the waiting room

Speaking of Wilma Deering, the "Off-think"episode of Buck Rogers might be the greatest missed opportunity in the history of moving images. It's haunted me ever since.

Mattwiseuk

Will Jacqueline somehow wind up with her hair down as the moths continue their ravenous assualt?

Annony Moose

Sounds to me like Becky is screwed...
