About Apple/Patreon Fees
Added 2025-03-24 20:22:56 +0000 UTCNot sure if this has hit my income yet, but if you don't already know: Apple takes an incredible cut of Patreon signups if it's done using the iOS Patreon app on the iPhone. A huge percentage on any charges that pass through their ecosystem.
So please use a browser when signing up for artists' Patreons. Otherwise, you think you're supporting the artist but the majority of the money goes to Apple.
If you've accidentally signed up via the iOS app, maybe you can cancel and rejoin via a browser to make sure the money goes to me instead of Apple? If you do this at the end of a month/start of a month, it should sync up to when you're charged anyway so shouldn't hit you with any double charges.
