This October, our donation went to Xeira (@xeirastudios) for her #ArtForHopeProject! I came across her tweet promoting her art commissions for a cause and was instantly touched by her desire to use her skills and creativity to inspire change and offer support to those who need help. I knew I had to reach out.
Upon talking with her and asking her about her project, I learned that she started her Art For Hope Project back in December 2020. That was the first time she launched her project, but then had to stop due to the death of her father last May 2021.
"When my dad was sick, people and the Lord have always been kind to me. [He] gave me the talent and the heart to do this, and blessed me with earnings through work, commissions. He let me meet people who were kind enough to support and trust my journey as an artist, my project, and my skills."
Xeira's father passed away due to Stage 4 liver cancer, and this September, her mother had to be admitted to the hospital due to emergency complications.
Despite all of these personal struggles, Xeira decided to continue her mission. To celebrate her birthday this year, she resumed her Art For Hope Project.
"As of now, I've been able to send help to people who reside in Cavite because that's where I live. The amount I earn isn't that big but I do my best to maximize it so I can help as many people as possible. Maybe when the time is right and if the Lord allows me to, I'll be able to expand to more cities around Cavite and maybe I can set up a foundation to be able to help more people meet their daily needs."
For this year, Xeira hopes to be able to help at least 50 people from the streets. Each person will get 2 kilograms of rice, 2 packs of instant noodles and 2 canned goods. "It may be little but I still want to be able to help those have to worry about buying rice and viand daily. I want to be someone's answered prayer whenever I can!"
๐ You can find more information about Xeira and her Art For Hope project on her Twitter page. Her art commissions are also ongoing!
๐ You can see more of her works on her Media page on Twitter as well!
๐ She also has a Ko-fi tip jar for those who want to send a little extra love and support her way! โค๏ธ๏ธ
I can't even begin to express how close this months donation hits home. As someone who grew up loving art in all its forms and now actually makes a semi-living off of making art, being able to donate to this project fills me with so much joy and hope for the future. Thank you SO MUCH for being here, for helping me use this platform to be able to help other people in need, for believing in me again and again. Every time I make these donation posts, I get absolutely overwhelmed as I realize how loved and supported I am. Just... thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
