Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage - AniMat's Reviews

I’m taking a break from talking about animation and turn up the music with the 2010 documentary, Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage. In this review, I’ll be putting this movie to the test, as I’m coming in as a newcomer to the world of Rush and see what I can learn from the rock band and its trio, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart. Will this documentary get closer to the heart of what makes the band so legendary for decades?

Mat, you’ve missed so much while you’re in Japan. Like the Chicken Jockey chaos in A Minecraft Movie https://youtube.com/shorts/-NUgnYNr8ww?si=7dfr4AnEM0s-roev

I'll admit that when it comes to music, we're pretty much aligned. I'm a music fan too, but my interest is really through TV and movies. I have a strong passion for Broadway productions, but I do hold a love for Rock music. When executed well, Rock can be thrilling to listen to, think of it as action music with lyrics. I previously mentioned my enjoyment of Rock covers of pop songs and musical parodies, though there are some exceptions. While not all of them hit the mark, they're enjoyable in their own right.

This is definitely interesting, honestly I’m not really familiar with Rush as a band but I definitely can understand why people would enjoy their music and I definitely can see how this documentary can appeal to fans of Rush and even non fans as well.
