Sorry for going MIA

Hi friends,

I didn’t mean to be gone for so long, but after another week of mental block, I actually ended up getting Covid and have had to prioritize my health and get some rest.

I’m still in the thick of it, right now it just feels like a bad flu, but I just wanted ya’ll to know I didn’t drop off the face of the earth and I’m thinking of you 💕.

In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share some little tidbits about my characters as a small consolation for my inactivity here.

Faith - Faith’s favorite anime is Death Note.

Kat - Since the incident at the abandoned house, Kat keeps a first aid kit in her car at all times just in case DareDevil has another accident.

Vanth - The song Vanth hums in her first video is Doris Day's version of "Autumn Leaves". She lost her love in the Fall and thinks of them whenever she hears that song.

Rori - Rori has a Calcifer plushie that Pyro once got her as a tongue-in-cheek gift. She pretends not to care about it, but she once tore her room apart looking for it when it went missing.

Marlo - Marlo has an impressive record collection. She's particularly fond of oldies and Bossa Nova music. 

Calea - Dreamer made Calea watch the first few episodes of The X-Files with them one night. Since then, she’s secretly binged the first 4 seasons and counting.

Lyra - Lyra and Love have a garden in their backyard abundant with all of Lyra’s faves: Cat mint, Catnip and Cat Grass.

Ava - Back when she worked there more regularly, Ava was once one of the most in-demand vamps at Bite. The theme night when everyone got to wear leather was a reference to the Underworld movies, and everyone was a big fan of her Selene costume. 

Kiara - Kiara, on the other hand, was only allowed to work with humans who signed additional consent forms when she worked at Bite. 

Daphne - All of Daphne’s videos so far have included at least one reference to Legally Blonde, Mean Girls or Julia Fox interviews.

Blake - Blake’s story took shape while I was writing the Lyra video that references her ordeal at Thornwood. As I was writing her character, one of the first few names I took down as options for her’s was Juliette (Jules). Luckily I saved it for the perfect pun.

Jules - Jules’ first script came to me faster than a lot of others. I wrote the script on a train ride home and recorded it that same night. When it came to picking the name, I looked back on the list I had come up with for Blake and noticed the pun (Jules/Joules) and suddenly the choice was already made for me.
