Several aspects of making glass... that require different materials, methods etc. all developed under a very short time by a few people (half a year to a year?) under the suggestions from somebody that constantly professes having very little specialized knowledge. Like the clock and paper, isn't this a too large, rapid and detrimental leap for the internal logic of the story?
