Xeno Onslaught
Added 2025-02-10 17:01:01 +0000 UTCLife on Hive World was already a bureaucratic nightmare, a pollution-ridden labyrinth of overpopulation, corruption, and questionable food sources (seriously, no one knew what was in the Corpse Starch). But just when things couldn't get any worse, the Aliens showed up. And naturally, the entire city handled it poorly.
The First Sign of Trouble:
It started in the lower hab-blocks, as most disasters do. A lone worker stumbled out of an air vent, covered in purple goo, muttering, "The voices… the voices are telling me to hug everyone!" Naturally, his co-workers immediately set him on fire, just to be safe. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a bit of an overreaction, since the fire suppression systems hadn't worked in decades, and within minutes, half the hab-block was engulfed in flames.
Meanwhile, the local enforcers received a report of "strange xenos activity." They promptly ignored it until a Patriarch drop-kicked their precinct wall and started attacking people. At that point, they radioed for backup in the most professional manner possible:
"HOLY THRONE! SEND HELP! SEND THE GUARD! OR THE INQUISITION! OR LIKE… ANYONE WHO HAS A FLAMER!"
It is the moment for the Protagonist to decide the fate of the entire planet, because the hive fleet is coming.... soon.
