Demon Evolution Showcase – Heretic Path Minigame Progress!

Hey everyone!

It’s time to peel back the veil and reveal some exciting progress from the Heretic Path storyline in Inquisitor Trainer! This update focuses on the Tamagotchi-style demon minigame, where you raise, interact with, and ultimately shape a pretty (and slightly dangerous) demon companion.

This feature has been a blast to develop—and I’m excited to share that the main demon evolution artwork is now fully complete! From their first tiny mugshot to their final, full-grown form, we’ve crafted every step of their transformation to be charming, a little unsettling, and totally on-theme with the twisted tone of the Heretic Path.

Your Demon, Your Responsibility
Throughout the Heretic Path, players will encounter this minigame as a corrupted magical artifact—something you’re not supposed to nurture, but… of course, you will. The demon starts as a strange, passive creature, and depending on your actions, it grows into increasingly bold, beautiful, and dangerous forms.

Each stage of their evolution is reflected in detailed mugshots that update as they grow—capturing their personality shifts, mood swings, and physical transformations. They go from adorable and curious to confidently sinful, with horns, wings, and eyes that might be watching you even when the game’s paused…

Main Artwork – FINISHED!
All evolution phases are drawn and shaded with care, from baby blob to elegant hellspawn. The art balances dark aesthetic with irresistible cuteness—a signature Heretic Path vibe. Expect rich color palettes, subtle emotion shifts, and little accessories or symbols that reflect your treatment of them throughout the game.

Animations In Progress
We’ve also started animating some key behaviors! Current animation progress includes:

• Idle motions (tail flicks, breathing, eye shifts)

• Evolution transition effects (with a dash of sparkly infernal magic)

• Basic emotional reactions (happy, hungry, angry, ignored…)

Each animation breathes more life into your demon and deepens your bond—or your regret.

Gameplay Integration Begins
We’re now focusing on how to tie these visuals directly into gameplay. Feeding them, teasing them, disciplining them—they all lead to subtle changes in behavior and visuals. Some evolutions may only unlock through specific choices, adding replay value and mystery.

Heretic Path Immersion
This isn’t just a side distraction—it’s part of the world-building. The demon reflects you as much as you influence it. What kind of heretic will you become, and what kind of creature will you raise in your corrupted care?lways.
