Utterly loved the series, as a whole; thought it was a worthy follow-up to Moore's masterwork on almost all fronts...(<spoilers>arresting Ozymandias can fuck right off, though; that was archaic ass pre-Hannibal 2013 era teevee morality. </spoilers>)
Only real complaint is there were rumors that Marionette and Mime, the two best new characters to emerge from the DC/Watchmen crossover series Doomsday Clock (final issue coming out this wednesday! Dying to read that!), would be showing up in some capacity. All i can add to that is the soundtrack work by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross is god-tier stuff, and this (from two episodes ago) is pretty much my favorite moment of everything all year.
Also, got extremely excited about the mesmerism hidden in media/film plot thread, as it felt lifted from Theodore Roszak's novel Flicker, the darkest, bleakest and most hauntingly disturbing bit of prose i've ever put in my head. I don't know that the series ever really paid that off (at least in the way i was hoping for) but i'll jump on any excuse to recommend Flicker - a novel so pitch-black Sartre-esque dark, it may permanently alter your perception of reality for the worse. Darren Aronofsky tried to adapt it, years ago...really hoping someone actually does it, someday.
