Got a bit sidetracked, but if you haven't read the first issue of Doomsday Clock...Good God, please do get to it. Really stunning, and crammed full of brilliant ideas, from a more self-aware and self-deprecating Ozymandias, to the most perfect casting for Pa Kent i've ever seen (almost certain Gary Frank is using Inception-era Matthew McConaughey as visual reference for the character.)
Seen Justice League 3x, now...still don't entirely know how i feel about it, but whatever. The bit at the very, very end, on the yacht, is worth the tickets, all on its own, and quallifies it for the 3rd most entertaining thing all year, after Twin Peaks and Blade Runner. 2017-11-29 18:13:48 +0000 UTCThe fact that JL had two directors was quite obvious. (Not that one can blame Zack and Deb for bailing). I felt like the tone was way off, and as a massive fan of Kirby's New Gods I was very annoyed with Steppenwolf's... everything (cherry on the sundae, I've never liked Patrick Tatopolous as a designer, so of course that's who they snag to futz around on a Cintiq). I kinda feel like it's unfair to judge it as a film until we get a director's cut.
