One more vintage set, as i had it ready to upload: Kat in a Black Canary inspired look. Zip here:  https://we.tl/dNFgFKLch7

Also, anyone going to wondercon this month?

Also also, rottentomatoes is objectively retarded...this movie was sooooooo good. If you have any love for the horror genre, slashers in particular, would urge you to seek this shit out before it disappears from theaters. There's a sequence towards the end that channels The Shining and Spring Breakers so effectively, it's almost a religious experience. Concentrated bliss.

(As a point of reference, i'd score the year, so far, as 1.) The Strangers: Prey at Night  2.) Annihilation  3.) Black Panther 4.) Death Wish...but they'll all likely shift down 1 in a couple weeks, when Isle of Dogs is out.)

Side note: biggest disappointment of the new Death Wish: No Goldblum or Denzel references. Just, come on Roth, you're better than this.

You guessed right. My main issue with the Mechanic remake is that there was an interesting reason to remake it- in the original 70s script, the relationship between Arthur and Steve was gonna be romantic as well as professional. It's unsurprising that they excised that both times... I can't imagine the difficulty in trying to sell that movie. Regardless, I really love the original.

it's def not great; the caliber of people involved (Carnahan/Willis/Roth/D'Onofrio) probably made it seem better than it is. I need to see the originals of this and The Mechanic (i'm assuming that's the other one you meant...loved that shit, but i can't be objective about anything with Statham in it.)

New Death Wish was... it was ok. Kind of felt like it was re-written a lot. Which kinda irks me on a personal level- I'm a huge fan of Charles Bronson, and now two of his best movies have been re-made with as little art or care as possible. Eh. As for the set, costume is neato, Kat's a doll, etc.
