Divine Communication: How Gods Speak
Added 2025-07-07 07:32:59 +0000 UTCTruth: The gods of Hemera do not speak with mouths.
When a god “speaks,” you do not hear. You understand, because the message strikes your soul directly, bypassing logic, bypassing ears, bypassing language entirely.
It feels like being remembered by something older than yourself.
Soul-Tongues of the Gods
Each god has a unique metaphor-voice, tuned to their domain and nature. When they speak, this is how it feels:
Steel (The Silver Maiden)
Voice: The sound of forge and metal
Feeling: A blade being tempered inside your chest. Sparks behind your ribs. A spine of iron.
Intent: She speaks not to comfort, but to strengthen. Even praise from her feels like sharpening.
Aeon (The Youth)
Voice: A voice that comes before time begins
Feeling: A dream you had before you were born. A question whose answer is your own name.
Intent: Aeon doesn't tell you what will happen. They remind you that it already has.
Umdar (The Elder)
Voice: The voice that death forgot to collect
Feeling: Dust in your lungs that was never yours. The way a graveyard might remember your footsteps.
Intent: Umdar’s speech erases the part of you that doubted it. You don’t just hear him—you forget silence existed before him.
Ahriah (The Silent)
Voice: The absence of sound
Feeling: A secret you’ll never tell. Words stuck in your throat for a decade. A book with pages torn out but blood on the spine.
Intent: Ahriah doesn't warn or punish. They withhold, and in doing so, command.
Estol (The Forest)
Voice: The wind’s breath between leaves
Feeling: Dirt remembering your footsteps. Roots curling around your ankle like an embrace or a trap.
Intent: Estol is never in a rush. Even his rage takes centuries. He speaks in cycles, not sentences.
Du-Mat (The Divine Beast)
Voice: The sound of beasts
Feeling: Growl in your blood. Hunger behind your eyes. A predator curling beneath your skin.
Intent: Du-Mat speaks in impulse. Her voice is never a suggestion. It is a command issued from your own instincts.
Uno (The Twin)
Voice: Multiple voices of the same person across different lives
Feeling: Your child self talking to your dying self while you stand in between, pretending to be whole.
Intent: Uno speaks with every version of you that ever almost was. When Uno speaks, you answer in your own voice.
Draux (The Spitter)
Voice: Spitting. Wet. Raw. Real.
Feeling: A laugh you regret. A punch you didn't pull. Blood in your mouth and luck in your hands.
Intent: Draux doesn’t speak so much as shove words into your spine. If he speaks, it means the stakes are already higher than you realized.
Juxitah (The One of Mirrors)
Voice: Shattering glass
Feeling: Seeing your own eyes in someone else's breakdown. Every mask you’ve ever worn, cracking all at once.
Intent: Juxitah doesn’t ask. Juxitah reveals. Their words aren’t heard, they’re survived.
Switch (The Storyteller)
Voice: Actual speech. Human. Direct. Heard aloud.
🜂 Rules of Divine Speech
No sound passes to others. If a god speaks to you, only you experience it.
You cannot misinterpret a god. You may not like what they mean, but you’ll know it.
You cannot lie to a god during divine speech. They do not ask. They reach inside.
