Ad-Free and Hi-Res

Sandra here. Howard is locked in his office making comics.

We'll be updating and upgrading the Schlock Mercenary Patreon in the next few days.

1) Patreon supporters at the $2.50 level and above will get ad-free browsing, and can read the archives a week at a time. This will be in addition to the rewards that already exist at this level.

2)  We're adding a $5 pledge level that provides the strips in  Retina-resolution, in addition to the ad-free and week-at-a-time  browsing from the $2.50 level. All rewards available in the $2.50 level are also available in this one.

3)  We're switching to the "Charge Up Front" payment method. Existing  patrons will only notice the change if they increase their pledge level after it is turned on. Details on this can be found at Patreon Charge Up Front faq . This change will go live sometime on Friday or Saturday.

There  will be lots of little tweaks here and there to optimize the Patreon  version of the site, but we should be launching on Sunday 3/12/17 there will be a separate post with instructions for how to link your Patreon support to the Schlock site to make sure you get the ad-free reading that your support earns.

We've been working hard behind the scenes to make ad-free Schlock work and are excited to finally be rolling it out. Thank you for your ongoing support.

I've updated the text on the pledge level. Good suggestion.

Email schlock@plus14.com Gary might be able to help you trouble shoot. I'm afraid I'm not good with this particular flavor of tech thing. If you can't sort it out, email me at schlockmercenary@gmail.com and I'll refund money or do something else to give you value. We definitely don't want you to be disappointed and frustrated.

Yes, I've got a 30" 2560x1600 screen, and apparently that's not large enough to see the mythical hires images??? Anyone know what kind of lies I need to tell Windows 10 or the server to be able to see them? I'm happy to fiddle with settings, but right now I'm disappointed and frustrated.

It would be nice if it said somewhere that getting the retina resolution images requires a suitably high resolution/dpi screen... i.e. you'll need one of Apple's retina screen equipped devices or other monitor of greater than 2560x1440
