A couple of quick updates on this film.
@Bustermachinearts and I have been hard at work on this project every day. We're always making progress and this film has been on an incredible journey.
Per my last update, we have been trying to extract assets, environments, and models from the latest game, and this has proved to be a very difficult endeavor...We've had to make a lot of contacts, join a lot of communities, network, and spend money, to really give this project the scope and scale required to tell such an incredible and big story. It's been worth it....but that's why this project is taking so long.
People always ask me about release dates and this is why I'm always apprehensive to ever give an answer because the production cycle is very, very unpredictable. Once these new assets are in hand, I'll have to reshoot a large portion of the film.... Thankfully, you guys have always been supportive and understanding and I'm thankful for that. It will all be worth it.
As you can see from when this project started to now, it's improved tremendously! Every Day this film gets better and better.

Also, teasing the Ending a little bit...I think I think I found a way to do the impossible, and make a conclusion that will actually make a lot of people happy. ..Stay Tuned!

Been following Bustermachinearts for a long time, their renders are amazing. I wonder what they taught you from their experience. I can fantasize what the surprises you have in store, I am hopeful that y'all learned how to rig models in a way that allows you to use different ones with the same scripted movements. I can only hope you made multiple versions or even a NSFW variant. Either way, you are growing quite a bit as an animator and we look forward to more.

Although I'm reshooting a lot of it, the foundation is there, and that's the good news! I really do like your point, about saving this and potentially releasing it later as a peek behind the scenes. I think that's a great idea, and I'm honored if anyone wants to see it. I also appreciate you telling me that the modding community is hitting road blocks too. Glad to know it's not just us two. We've been able to identify the location of the files we need, but extracting them into blender isn't easy. This has gone on for weeks, and trust me, I just want to animate the film but patience is required here. Objectively speaking, were still making excellent progress, and were hoping for a breakthrough this weekend. Fingers crossed and we'll be in touch!!

The reaction of Tifa's head and the position of Scarlet's hand in this shot tells me there was a huge amount of swing on that slap and Scarlet isn't holding back ha ha. Yeah no worries about the release date, from the mods that have been released for Rebirth already, I can tell even the modders themselves are having trouble creating mods for the game so it's no surprise that it's causing you and Bustermachinearts difficulties. I have no doubt at all that this movie is going to be one of your, if not your best ever film so it will be well worth the wait. As you filmed a lot of material already, which I assume is now having to be scrapped, it might be worth keeping it and releasing it later as a kind of behind the scenes featurette of what the film could have looked like without the assets you have been able to extract from the game, that could be quite interesting to see if the differences are really noticeable, and it means all that work won't have been done for nothing then (you could even release it as a Patreon exclusive) Surprise ending -they both die :-)

The Canon that they battle on is this industrial maze of machinery, but the backdrop being this incredible ocean and sunset, is a really beautiful parallel. It's coming along nicely! I think this film will be very special for long time Final Fantasy, fans.
