NEW EPISODE OF MAP MEN

What would you rather? A remote control that when you point it at someone and press it, it makes them compliment you and make you a sandwich? Or a brand new episode of Map Men two whole days before everyone else?

The remote control, obviously. Can you imagine it? “BZZZZZT!!!! Ow! Your nose is looking good today. Here, I’ve made you a sandwich.”

Unfortunately, the remote control is still in the research and development stage, so I’m not actually able to offer it to you… yet… BUT! The episode of Map Men two days before everyone else *IS* available right now and you can watch it right now!

I can’t quite put in to words how tremendously grateful and bowled over I am for your continued support here on Patreon. You folks are the absolute best and I can’t thank you enough! So giving you lot the first glimpse of the new video in the new series is the very least I can do to show my appreciation.

As usual, if you spot any mistakes in this video that you think could be fixed in time for Monday afternoon, (such as a mispronounced bit of Sanskrit, or a bad bit of colour-correcting, or a white square flashing up for two frames, that sort of thing) please do let me know, either here or in the comments section.

For those of you on the posh tiers, there are even more goodies to come soon, including an extended scene from this episode that we had to cut for time.

Thanks again so much!! I hope you’re having a brilliant July so far. See you here again next month for another episode, and then the month after that and so on and so on until beyond 2024!

Best possible wishes,

Jay

If you’re interested, we’ve so far managed a prototype that makes an iPad light up with a message saying “compliment me and make me a sandwich”, which has achieved a 30% success rate for the compliment, and 0% for the sandwich. Good progress, but a fair bit to go.

Jay can I translate your new video and re-upload it onto the Chinese video website I've talked to you earlier in chat?

Excellent video as always! One small mistake I noticed: while the maps in The Lord of the Rings have North pointed upwards, one of the maps in The Hobbit had east pointed upwards (which Tolkien claims is standard for dwarf maps): https://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/The_Hobbit#Illustrations https://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Thr%C3%B3r%27s_Map
