I want to be upfront with you. I lost my WorldPainter files, the most important part of my whole map-making process. These files held all my complex cave layers and everything that made my maps one of a kind.

I still have my schematics, Minecraft worlds, and World Machine files, but honestly, losing the WorldPainter files hurts the most. They were the core of my work and there’s no easy way to replace them.

This is a little embarrassing, but I got really hyped about doing a clean install, got a little careless, and slipped up on backing those files up. I really thought I had those files backed up! It’s the only thing I forgot to save, and it’s a tough lesson learned.

Because of this, you probably won’t see any new updates or map drops for a few weeks up to a month. The basic biomes, trees, and structure layers should come together pretty quickly, but the caves and other more complex parts might take weeks to perfect. There are hundreds of layers I have to add back from mobs to rivers, ocean layers, villages, and more. This might sound like a lot and you might think it will take months, but trust me, all this comes together rather quickly (except those precious caves 😭).

I really apreciate your patience and support while I work through this. It means a lot. But I promise I’m putting all my energy into making the worlds better than ever, and I’ll keep you all posted as I go.
