DMF: Yoongi’s POV After The Beer

Every moment from the night before replays in his mind like a cinematic roll, and he cringes at how stupid and reckless he’d been.
Regret. It’s all that floods him. Yoongi had envisioned confessiong to Jimin a thousand times before, so how could he be so callous with his actions? He’s the worst!
Especially when it comes to Jimin, who deserves to be treated better than what Yoongi just did.
What a mess. And it’s not like he can run to Jimin’s house and explain himself right now, when the car is already waiting and his mother is tapping her feet while in the rear seat.
Texting people — like the student he writes to on the Gaeden Post — is fine, since it doesn’t require talking. But Yoongi doesn’t have the heart to make a call to Jimin in his mother’s presence. He’d rather chew ice in the winter than let her come into contact with his marigold again.
Which is why, under the pretense of having forgotten something in his apartment, Yoongi rushes out of the parked car, his backpack in tow, and makes a big show of rummaging through it as he enters the elevator. He texts Jimin to call, and for a priceless two minutes manages to hear his favorite person’s voice.
Jimin sounds a little off, but that makes sense since it’s still early in the morning. Yoongi is gonna have to explain everything once they meet again, but at least he managed to give Jimin a heads-up.
All too soon, Seokjin is calling his name, asking Yoongi to hurry.
He hangs up with a smile, anxiety clearing for once, and then bounds back into the family car, humming under his breath.
Jeju will be fun.
