Apologies, I think I have stayed on this part a little too long, I know people are anxious for plot clarification.
To explain myself all I can say is that I did this part to set up sexy shenanigans for later on, but maybe overstayed a bit much. I also wanted to keep people guessing on the plot, to make it more of a mystery, but have maybe overdone it. Funnily, the original draft would have had everything elucidated by this point, but I've tried to inject as much smut (and set up for future smut) as possible before the expository pages. I've rewritten the upcoming parts to get to the rules of the TF and the triggers/ consequences much quicker.
Sorry, pacing isn't my forte', I'm still learning and refining as I go!

I completely agree, you need every page to be a home run with as much succinctness as possible when it is a page a day. You get away with bridging pages easier when people know it is a page of a bulk and isn't the end of the daily content. I look back on TLotK and see just how wordy and verbose it is at times. Haha. But it is as you said; it is all practice and refinement.

2025-09-08 16:27:41 +0000 UTCSo its a bit of a tricky thing. There's pacing for a story, and then there's pacing for story released one page at a time. Those are different things, and I imagine it has its ups and downsides to each approach. Pacing is the number 1 thing everyone struggles with, if just because we as creators struggle with being able to experience the story outside of our minds. Don't worry, you're not doing horribly or anything like that. It's just a constant source of trying to experiment and refine.
