Q&A

The riff and solo I play at the beginning are tuned down 1/2 step.
But after the intro solo, the lesson is in standard tuning (440 Hz).
Backing Tracks you can practice this song with:
- With Vocals
- Standard Tuning
- Backing Track without vocals - in Eb
- Backing Track with vocals - standard tuning
I used the "real track" for backing track, but I removed the original guitar with Audiostrip.

Hi!
Here's a new lesson on how to play the famous riff of the song Pride & Joe by Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Since I'm playing this riff a little differently these days, I thought it was worth recording another lesson. The difference isn't much, but I still thought it deserved a new lesson. This lesson also has better audio and visual quality.
However, the old lesson still applies and feel free to check it out as well if you want and have time.
For the tabs regarding the "eighth-note triplets exercises" see the old lesson.
I want to point out that this is not a walkthrough - lesson of how Stevie Ray Vaughan played this riff. This is my way, my arrangement you could say.
Although I think my playing is pretty close to Stevie Ray Vaughan's, I wouldn't dare say it's an exact match.
Let me know if you have any questions about the lesson.
PRIDE AND JOY - LEVELS
Check out the lesson above and it will be easier to understand these "levels"
Level 1:
Level 2:
Level 3:
Level 4:
EQUIPMENT I USED FOR THE SOLO
Guitar: 62 Fender Stratocaster

Pedal: King Of Tone - Analogman
Used from 0:27 in the video
Amps:
King Reverb by Headstrong amps
Speaker: EVM 12L Classic 8 Ohm
Microphones for speaker:
- SM57
- Sennheiser MD 421-II
The guitar was first recorded - DI - with my sound card (UAD Apollo Twin) and then sent out to the amplifiers. Through this method I could record the same signal twice and thus use two different amplifiers.
Tabs - My Solo
Tabs are also available for download as guitar pro and pdf file
