LINK TO BACKING TRACK

Hi!

Presenting a lively blues solo in the D major key. This solo features improvisation starting at bar 9 and is the second recording attempt. There's a slightly higher amount of gain and overdrive in this version compared to the initial take.

Here is the first take.

The solo is filled with neat musical phrases rooted in the mixolydian scale and the blues scale. You'll also come across a few unexpected "outside licks" that bring an interesting twist to the mix.

The backing track is a 12 bar blues progression. Everything is based on the chords:

D7, G7 & A7.

As usual, you can find the right hand notation in the guitar pro files and pdf file.

p = thumb
i = index
m = middle
a = ring
c = pinky/little finger

Awesome! Thanks :) Feel free to ask me anything regarding this page or guitar playing in general. Happy to help

awesome. this is the sort of “nonsense” licks i’ve been trying to figure out. they make no sense to me intuitively, but i also want to break out of the blues rock vocal licks and runs that i gravitate to. it’s like i still mostly want to speak like the trailer trash i am, but also throw in a big fancy word here and there to seem educated. i just signed up, but i’ll navigate the page first before i try to ask any questions. thank you 👍

Thanks! It's mostly neck pickup. But in the beginning I'm also changing to the bridge pickup.
