My Top 10 Blues Licks

Hey Patreons,

I've got a new blues shuffle solo for you in G major. It's a classic 12-bar blues with a mix of traditional licks and some jazzy elements like enclosures and chromatics. You can also download the backing track for jamming.

I've included guitar tablature with a breakdown of the scales and chords used in the solo. To grasp the nuances of certain lines I incorporate in the solo, I strongly recommend watching my lessons on enclosures and chromatics.

The analysis is available for download as a pdf file - file name:

Please be aware that I primarily use my plectrum near the guitar's bridge for picking throughout the majority of the solo. This approach yields a distinctively "treble" and more pronounced tonal quality, in my opinion.

When I transition to hybrid picking, I've made sure to indicate it in the tablature and sheet music where I deemed it necessary. I strongly encourage you to watch my lessons on Hybrid Picking. They provide valuable insights into my thought process regarding this technique, offering a deeper understanding.

Hope you enjoy it and let me know if you have questions.

Thanks! I love Robben. He is always there ;)

Love it. Some hints of Robben Ford there?

Good call! The key (for me) is to be able to lift your finger slightly away from the fretboard but still touch the string after you hit the string with your right hand. You can also experiment with touching the string with your right hand right after you hit the string in order for it to go silent. A third option is to palm mute the string when you hit it.

Bonjour Emanuel! I would like you to elaborate on your staccato technic. Thanks
